What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

Oil is falling through the floor also. Airlines will be lucky in that any traffic issues on some routes will likely be offset by record low fuel pricing.

Even the weakish pound went up 3% v AUD yesterday and the UK economy is in much worse state than Australia.
Not that it's all that relevant. It's more sentiment driven. However I did take the opportunity to convert some GBP to AUD this morning, but I expect that the Aussie will fall a little further in the short term (but who knows?).

Being in Boston the day Keating devalued the $A by 10% I can assure you that in the past the $A has lost more than 3cents in a day.

Now I am happy to see the $A drop as for overseas cash spending we have enough USD to last a few more years of travel.

We were in the UK when Fraser devalued the $A by 17.5% in 1976 so a 10% devaluation is a mere trifle;) In fact it worked out well for us as we had bought a car in the UK in early 1976 and when we sold it in 1977 and transferred the proceeds and some other funds back into $A we actually made a profit on 9 months use of a car - despite a lower sale price.

Withdrew €1000 from ATM a few days ago at just over 0.58 which I thought was bad...today it is 0.55! Still got another 9 days in Europe. :(

THB20.98! We're heading there tomorrow. Who'd have thought.

P.S. It was ~THB23 in 2003 when I first went to Thailand for work. Never thought I'd see it that low again but THB23 is looking really good now.

AUD parity with the THB would be a good thing. We'd sell everything and bring back ~10 million, maybe more.
