What's YOUR QFF goal?

Status
Not open for further replies.
LTG is more long term goal.

LTS is no longer a goal as they keep taking from Silver and devaluing the status tier.

LTP would be my uber goal.(if it existed)

Just like a few other people,
I am a fully funded flyer who is, (and I know this may seem like something you Platinum's would of knocked out in a day), to get off this lifetime Bronze stuff and go to silver!
After the much anticipated OOL inaugural flight, I will only be so much closer!

My main goal is to tick off a bucket list item and fly F to Europe. At this stage I'm on track to achieve that in 2014. a year ago I would have said to get to SG was a goal but now WP looms in the headlights.

My initial goal was to get gold and lounge access so that when I went on holidays with the wife we had a place to sit during transit.

After reaching Plat my goal is to some how maintain this.

The points are coming in handy with holiday flights and upgrades.

Seems there are a hell of a lot of us around LTS with QF and heading for LTG. Wonder what will happen when we all get there?????
Not much - for me WP is the annual sweeter spot ... after that I look to other programs.;)

Yep, me too. Will hit LTG this year though, so then credit to AA i think.

My aim is SCs first to get status (makes family travel better), and points are just a bonus.

As I approach semi-retirement my goals are:

a. 2 x J class Int flights per year to hook up with a cruise or extended visit to a region - sale fares required and to date have had good success with Syd-JFK, Syd = LHR, (upgraded to F both ways Sin-LHR legs), Syd-Hnl (J* Business) and already booked Syd-Geneva Dec 12 and Syd-Bud Apr 13.
b. Retain WP for swmbo and self.
c. Reach LTG in 2014
d. Points at the moment used for upgrade to J Domestic for Syd=Per etc and upgrade to F Int
e. Saving points up for either F return to Europe or RTW J.

LTG for me should achieve in the next 18 months on current schedule. Also to fly F at some point in the not too distant future.

I would like a Charlie And The Chocolate Factory style product that produces a never ending supply of Frequent Flyer points instead of chocolate.

My goal is too get Lifetime Platinum. It exists and but there is no requirement per se so I just keep chugging along.

Interesting thread, like some have alluded to without being specific, I'm not sure I really have a goal as such. For me QFF membership (and other program memberships) is a means not an end, what I want to is have as much travel as possible, to maximise the experience as much as possible and to do it as cost-effectively as possible.

Like travel itself though, it is the journey as much as the destination that counts. In my mind goal and destination are pretty much equal in this line of reasoning, sure getting status recognition can be useful in maximising the experience and keeping the costs down but it's not status per se that I am after. And equally there are other ways to get some of these benefits. So for me at least status is an enabler only, its not the goal.

I'm an entirely self funded flyer. Before finding this site, I was foolishly using my points on classic awards ( 2 J seats SYD-LHR rtn and 2 x SYD HNL rtn). This year I booked my first ASA (2 seats SYD - SIN rtn) which was an exciting moment for me :) Mr Natalie only got excited when he saw that he earnt status points as he was one of the lucky ones who got the double SC offer earlier this year.*

My most immediate goal is to have 100,000 pts by the end of the year (balance was reduced to 0 after booking ASAs in April). I'm currently at 80k. I have a trip booked for late October and will supplement with cc points.

My next goal is to be silver when my year ends in March. My goal after that will be retaining it :) Last time I was silver I bought a house and the mortgage took priority over flying. This time, Mr Natalie will also have more status and with his QP membership will be easier to convince to travel.

Echoing a few others, short term is LTS, long term is LTG, and my dream is CL :p

As for points, I save them till I need them, usually for a JASA to boost status. I'm not sure I'd ever use them for an upgrade... well, maybe J to F if I ever bought a J ticket!

My next QFF goal is to achieve LTG, having hit LTS a few months ago.

At the start of my QFF year I usually try and direct my work related flights to OW, then once I requalify for WP start flying some *A to maintain my *A Gold status.

Not sure at this stage if I'll keep crediting to QF or change to AA once I hit LTG.

My long term goal, like many here, is LTG (currently 8500SCs), but this is getting more difficult with my employer moving to "best fare of the day" which more often than not is Virgin (unless I engineer it to pick flights at a time (+/- 45 minutes) that only QF service).

Points are mostly earnt on domestic Y, with CC crediting to QF.

So in the meantime, mid term goals are to retain Platinum on both QF and DJ (QF is OK this year thanks to a status run, but will be harder next), and enough points for 2 x JASAs to Europe. Currently have around 450k between Mrs Aus ATC and myself. Will also be picking enough points on Virgin for a points reward trip to Europe next year.

Accumulate ff points for FASA for me and wifey to USA
LTG 6500 credits to go :(

My goal of LTG is been acheived. Currenlty platnium.

Now that LTG has been achieved I will be flying be building my status with Star Alliance. I dont see any reason to be loyal to Qantas. My main reason is poor availabilty of award flights. On average I take a two yearly overseas holiday but there seems to be less and less choice of dates, or I have to purchase a ticket out right. I'm not giving Qantas 100 perc ent of bussiness just for chasing points that i cant redeem.

My goals are as follows -

1) hit 21000 LTSC (most likely by the end of 2013 if I have a good year next year). LTG+LTS status.....
2) hit the mythical lifetime platinum at 28000 LTSC.
3) 10 consecutive years as a WP (six years down, four to go).

Obviously I do not actually get anything for the above milestones except for bragging rights to my mates....

At the moment my goal is very simple. To get an award seat on a QF flight between MEL & SIN on the day I actually want to travel, at a value of >1c per points. And that doesn't include travelling on JQ or travelling via SYD, BNE or PER (at a pinch I'd settle for and ADL transit). So far proving impossible.

Can never get J or Y+ on QF 9 or QF10 on the days I want to travel and exceedingly rare to get Y seats, and if they are available usually commercial fares are available (return) for only $400-$450 SGD more than the ridiculous surcharges. And I'm not redeeming 60000 pts to save $350 AUD. Until then I will try not to fly QF at all, currently have just had 12 mths without setting foot inside a QF plane, down from about 80 flights a year a few years ago. I really don't dislike QF the product, it's generally OK or better ... mid-top tier, just what they've done to the loyalty progam over the years I have been a member has left a sour taste in my mouth. Until I start seeing value in accruing QF FF points again (or at least get that elusive QF9 or 10 seat) , I think I'll avoid them (and as an LTG I have no interest in accruing status credits to get back to WP, so ASA's really aren't my thing).
