Finally catching up on this TR, a party without me!!!
At least out here you can make as much noise as you like.
Please post pics if you do have a party.

There you are, peeps - an open invitation :mrgreen:.

I don't have any specific comment but just wanted to say I enjoyed the TR. Thanks for sharing.

Tomorrow morning and it will be time to spin the wheels the other way and head home.

With the exception of a slight detour to Parkes to scope the big radio 'scope, it will be the most direct route. Pretty cruisy: overnight stops planned at Parkes, Broken Hill, Port Augusta, Streaky Bay, Eucla, Norseman.

Are they receiving messages from outer space JohnM?

Nothing from little green men yesterday, Cove.

They put the observing schedule for the week in the visitor centre. 1800-2400 last night, as an example, was targeting a pulsar a very large distance away. It observes actively about 85% of total time over the year, with the other 15% for maintenance and upgrades. It's now about 10000 times more senstive than when built in 1961.

It was good to see a national icon up close.

A souvenir from NSW roads and a passing truck. Pfft - I have windscreen cover in my insurance.

Historic Silverton (25 km NW of Broken Hill) pub. (Think movie locations such as Mad Max.)

Fairly big day today. Decided to skip Eucla and go straight to Norseman from Streaky Bay.

1320 km, 14 h total elapsed time. Put the hammer down late morning for the last couple of hundred clicks in SA to get out of there somewhat quickly ;) :) .

Tomorrow is a cruisy 700 km run into PER and home.

That pretty much completes this TR :) .

Your time over East seemed to go very quickly. It was great the meet you when you were on the way over. And now nearly back home.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

I hope you enjoyed some good Hunter wines and look forward to catching up with you this weekend
