When did the new Velocity website get loaded. Talk about epic FAIL!

Yep new site is actually really good design wise. Lots of the information you used to have to click for is now shown at login. As SeaWolf posted above the status earn tables are also really clear and easy.

OK, please tell me how to work out from the status earn tables many SC I would earn in W class on Hong Kong Ailines (HX*HX) between BKK and HKG.

Yes, the experience 'suite' of pages are s attractive, but information I used to get by logging on, I know have to zoom out or page down to access. Also, I hate my limited bandwidth being wasted on widescreen scrolling advertisements.

Did anyone have their status changed with the new update? I am due to change from Platinum to Gold 5th of September but a couple weeks ago when the website changed I was downgraded to Gold early! I didn't bother calling Virgin about it as I didn't have any flights planned but I was a bit sad to be changed early. The strange thing is all the email communication and when I call is still referred to as Platinum.

The main thing I have been worried about that I think the website change may have stuffed me on, up until now every time I have moved between Gold and Platinum up or down I have been able to retrigger HH Status match (despite what others here have experienced) however when they changed me to Gold alongside the website change, this time the button for HH hasn't reappeared :(

My partner who is a Librarian and runs Tech Bar sessions for the public at a large Library, guiding them how to do such basic things, went into her account tonight to change her email address.

Much swearing and cursing later, she achieved this once simple task in TEN minutes, I kid you not.

I'd love to heard from our spotty face Millenniums on how long it takes them.

35 seconds. I timed it.

A little over 1 min on the mobile. And I'm 35-45.

Approximately 30 seconds to change an email address as a Gen X member....

My Velocity -> My Profile -> My Details -> Type in new email address -> Submit (I did not do this however).

Then the old format - won't be long before that's enhanced ...

It used to take Login->My Details to get to that page.

Comparisons aren't the same.

First one shows all the login steps. The second one doesn't.

Since we're providing all this valuable feedback to VFF team here's mine. I'm in the 30-35 bracket and I think the issue is the site and member dashboard has been really dumbed down for the masses. That's fine, I get that but at the moment for more of the detail you get shunted to the old site which is not mobile optimised and is a very hard landing from the new experience.* site. Hopefully this is temporary but the rollout has been incredibly slow and they are only releasing little bits at a time (same with the app). I understand backend systems must be a mess but the experience isn't great right now. In comparison to QF website and app it just lacks UX finesse and is very over reliant on stock photos. It can only be improved from here and I'm hopeful they will.

What I find annoying is that you login and then really need to click on "My Dashboard". I don't know why it doesn't just take you to "My Dashboard" once you login.
Then is my second issue (OK being a bit petty), the menu tab for "My Dashboard" is actually called "My Velocity" and the end of the url is my-velocity ...If you are introducing something new, call it the same thing!

I'm in the age bracket over being over 40 and under 41.

I timed it from the point of time after going to https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com, so it included me entering my velocity number and password ... Oh and starting my stopwatch and fumbling around with my mouse for a few seconds ..... I waited for each page to completely load and waited for it to count my VFF balance which is under 20,000 points ... Total time 35.55 seconds.

I booked some flights last night.

Tried checking my Velocity account and the new website popped up. Couldn't find anything. Managed to find old website and saw how many SCs I had and then clicked on a link and up pops tge new website again with useless information and no way to get the information I want. Backspaced until old website appeared but somehow linked to new webaite again.

Took too long to get the information I wanted. It will take a while to get used to new layout.

Really hating the redesign of the Velocity website. Everything is now harder to find, and the site seems even more temperamental than it was before (that might be hard to believe I know!).

Well the spotty faced kids in Calcutta have changed the look, but they have not improved the functionality.

WHY all the Virgin sites time out after 5 or 10 minutes is a mystery to me, and DARN annoying. :(

The only loser is VIRGIN. Many folks lose interest I am sure. Another airline sites use brains and know folks are often out on different windows looking up hotels or car hire rates before continuing.

I was on the Air India site yesterday and that stayed active for a half hour or so - SMART.

And do not get me started on how the dopey Virgin sites will not, as every other airline site does, and let users simply type in a 3 letter airline code or name.

NOPE, we have this 1990s era dumbed down, drop down most times, offering a zillion choices to wade thru, when I know I only need to type in SYD-HKG

That is not my experience ... you enter a three digit aerodrome code and it provides a selection, often just the one which you select. QF does the same but in a more wasteful and washed out manner.

Many web booking engines time out after inactivity, this is nothing unique to Virgin. As a comparison, the Qantas website is exactly the same.

Still working my way through the changes, so jury is still out, but I did quite like the old version as I could see everything at a glance - and getting around the site appeared to be a little easier than it is now. Will give it some time, maybe it might grow on me.
