Do you try to be quiet? Do you try to avoid slamming the compartment doors, dropping your tray into the arm of the chair or even you may be the hostie that kicked my chair today whilst I was sleeping :p?

Elbows and shoulders on the backs of heads is always a good one.

I try and do the right thing when moving about the cabin.

Avoid legs stretched in aisles, avoid shoulders in the aisle, avoid heads lurched over the aisle. Ocassionally though it is almost impossible as there are way to many people taking up aisle space as the seats are way too narrow.

I do my best to avoid legs, shoulders and holding onto seats when I move about. However when there is turbulence the grabbing onto the tops of seats becomes fair game!

I personally use a points system, when walking around the cabin I get

10 points for managing to kick the leg or nearly breaking off their arm (I get a double points bonus if I do both) plus
10 points for disturbing a pax whilst watching their movie or reading a book, to the point they look up and give me a disapproving look.
20 points for waking a pax up who dozes off again shortly afterwards.
50 points for waking a pax up who will never be able to get to sleep again.

At the end of the flight I tally my points up, and if I earnt more points via this method that FF points for the flight, it's a good flight...

(Said with tongue firmly in cheek)

I try and use the seat backs like a set of monkey bars to pull myself along the cabin - certainly makes life more comfortable for me.

Agree with you other than finding the seats too narrow ;)

I usually try to put the tray table back into the arm rest carefully. But if the person sitting next to me doesnt get the hint and move their arm I nudge it out of the way with the table.
When walking down the aisles I use the same trick FA's do and guide my hand along the overhead bins to steady myself. I don't know why more people dont do this?

And how do you get into the aisle in the first place??? By using the seat in front and levering yourself upright......and then once back to your seat , reverse the process, lowering yourself back into place, just as the pax in front dozed off again after you catapaulted them into the seat in front intially.

Cant anyone use their own seat to push themselves up?

Staff seem to know how to walk like elephants on night flights.

Meloz

Yep! I can certainly relate to that.. additionally could name several distinct airlines that could claim the trophy dias for the stomping talent..

Trust me, it's far worse when you have long hair and they grab big handfuls of it and pull when getting up

Oh great, now they are picking on my baldness......I wish I had hair to be pulled (on my head). ;)

Don't worry Turnip, if I see you on a flight, I'll be sure to find some hair to pull ;) No one is that bald!!

Yes, lots of practice !! Even more difficult in economy with the person in front fully reclined, requires a lean back and good timing to slide between the seat in front and your seat. I am a serial offender when it comes to getting my knee cap smashed into with trolleys. Also have my fair share of FA's bumbs rubbing against my shoulder. I am only 6'2 and find it very difficult to fit my legs inside my space, especially when the seat in front is reclined. For some reason though the trolley banging into my knees never seems to hurt, I get the usual apology then say no no my fault. I love watching people attempt to walk down the aisles during turbulence, you see some near misses and duck walks. I had one lady who thought it would be a good idea to go to the bathroom 3 minutes before landing - queue the FA smashing on the toilet door screaming for her to get out. Poor girl was probably mid stream haha !!

Maybe they have bad BO and don't want to subject others to it....

If you are on an aisle in Y, many (not all - exceptions may be front row and exit rows) of the aisle seat rests are liftable, meaning you can just lift them, swing your knees around into the aisle and stand up. They are usually released via a little knob or lever on the underside and to the rear of the armrest. Can make entry and exit to the seat so much easier, especially if the one in front is reclined. I can only recall having noticed this on B737s and A320s but it may apply on other models too. Of course, as seat technology changes, the feature may disappear.
