July 1985 GLA-BJV, charter flight with best friend, mum and mum's partner. Was sick as a dog due nerves. Toured Pamukkale first stop on arrival, unforgettable beautiful place, would love to go back now I'm not an immature teen

According to my TAA Junior Flyers' Club logbook - 20/11/57 Flight 461 TSV BNE, 3 hrs flight time - maybe a Viscount?

Not forgetting to note the Member's Pledge on the cover: As a member of the TAA Junior Flyers' Club I will always be courteous, kind and helpful to everyone. I will help my parents and friends and always be kind to animals.

Maybe we need a similar code of conduct for the QP??

First one I can remember is 1970 SYD to POM, TAA 727, Up Up and Away

We have something in common.My first remembered flight was the same but december 1969.Of course i was already into the lurks of flying and was in F with my backpack in the hold.
I did fly SYD-WLG-SYD in 1968 but have absolutely no memory of the flight.Maybe because as a pair of Med students we decided that on our NZ trip we would have a beer in every pub whose name started with W + every pub in a town whose name started with a W.As I seem to remember we went down swinging that first day.

SYD-KPS in a DC-3 as a babe in arms... early 1960's so presumably Airlines of NSW (after the takeover of Butler?)

My parents recall having to step onto scales at check in...(with or without bags I have no idea)

PER to MEL on presumably a 727 (No idea whether it was TN or AN) in July 1973, when I had just turned 2.

May 1967 Penang to Singapore on a Malaysian Airlines Fokker Friendship aged 18 months. My second flight was Singapore to Melbourne on a QF 707 later that day. I still have the certificate I was issued onboard for crossing the equator somewhere.

LHR-JFK in 1968 on a 707 chartered by BUNAC (British Universities North America Club). I returned via sea in 1969 on the SS Aurelia (another student charter) which had on board 200 men and 900 women. For a long time sea-travel became my preferred route!

1959 from Newcastle to Cooma on a chartered DC-3 school excursion to explore the Snowy Mountains Scheme.
DC-3..talk about shake rattle and roll.

I then took my first international flight in 1978 to AMS for a three week holiday around Europe, and ended up getting home 3 months later thanks to getting a job as courier with Viking Tours.

I am still amazed when I look out the window and watch the flaps extending and retracting.

March 1991 (I was 9) - A CO B747 from SYD-HNL-LAX. I remember being surprised at the 3-4-3 layout (as all the planes I'd seen on TV until then had only ever had 3-3 layout). I also remember that we where in the bulkhead seats (there was 4 of us, myself, my sister and my grandparents), although legroom wasn't such a concern for me back then...

I also remember that the movie from SYD-HNL was Ghost, and the movie from HNL-LAX was Home Alone... (It's funny the things you remember).

It was this flight which made me decide I loved flying, and it was the return flight home (again on another B747 this time from HNL-SYD) which made me decide I love B747's...

First flight I remember approx 1984 age 7, TAA 727 MEL-OOL still have the deck of cards somewhere, remember walking off from under the tail looking up at the unique perspective of the plane that it afforded.

First International was 16/04/1991 MEL-AKL NZ006 on 747 then AKL-APW NZ076 767 still have playing cards and return ticket $1048.00, seven days advance purchase.

March 1974, BNE/TSV on Ansett - not sure what type of Jet. We were then driven to Ingham in an Ansett car!

Back home on the milk run, this time on TAA on a Fokker. Always liked the Fokkers. Senator Neville Bonner* was also on that flight in F - which was the last (!) row, but still closest to the door.
