Another one who has just used the QR Companion deal - ex Sin. Off to Spain for 24 days in September/October 2018. Plus 2 nights in Doha - no expectations of anything special just seemed like a good idea to have a short look.

The thing putting me off anything other than Bali is the time/cost getting there from Adelaide.

The thing putting me off Bali are the Australian tourists (present company excepted!) who go there. Was great in ‘73 but now? Obviously YMMV! :)

Yep. The tourists. It was rather peaceful this week as the volcano had scared them away. But if that’s a worry book one of the beautiful resorts on a beach, hire a driver to get you there and stay put.

Take photos and ignore the others! :)

Highlights: Corsica, Catalonia, Mediterranean France; Israel; Sri Lanka and Maldives.

We did Maldives and Sri Lanka combination 3 years ago and it works really well. Found Sri Lankan Airlines to be very good, even with no status if that helps. We only did 3 or 4 nights in Sri Lanka and I'd suggest that is no where near long enough.

Booked an Orlando Cruise late Oct next year.

Return route? - One World but don't mind who.
Circle Pacific?
RTW?

Undecided but I'm happy to be persuaded.

Circle Pacific can be good value, but it comes and goes compared to return direct on QF.

Not sure if you can do CP involving SCL but that would be a decent option.

I think my basic itinerary, with possibly a few side trips, will be:

My guess, mining industry?

My guess, mining industry?

Related to mining yes. And to you mud-slingers - no, I am not a mule - the only thing I traffic is Colombian chocolates and some lemon-flavoured chips from there that my kids love :)

Back on topic, the only significant "side trip" is I hope to take my family to Rarotonga in 2018. My grandfather worked there after WW2, and my mother spent some teenage years there. I have been to Rarotonga about 30 years ago, but never since.

Thailand and Penang for a month in January. Spain for two months March-May. RTW Star Alliance to Canada, Iceland, UK and France in June-Sept. Japan for a month from mid November. Happy travels everyone!

Trying to find somewhere to go for the Australia Day long weekend that wont cost us a small fortune.
