Well with no close guesses, this is the Russian Orthodox Church in Vienna, just along the street from the British Embassy.I only threw this in because it was such an unexpected encounter. It was antiques day at Spitalfields market, and who should turn up but the man who makes a living from others turning up ancient objects.

Pretty close, its Sanctuary Wood (Hill 62), as you say near Ypres. Chaotic collection of recovered WW1 memorabilia in the museum, but the retained trenches give a feel for life on the Western Front.WW! trenches near Passchendaele, near Ypres?
