Where will you be election day (Confirmed September 7th)

Election Day is the day we leave London for Perth. We will have to vote over in the UK as we leave Perth before postal voting starts.
 
I will be riding rollercoasters all day long at Cedar Point in Ohio, much better use of my time than voting! :)

I will be in Ibiza, the biggest party island on planet earth. At the same time the poll booths close on the eastern seaboard, I would be probably stumbling home at 9am after an all night party :) :) I am getting a bit too old for these parties but hey, I live only once !

Wooooohooooo way to go Mrs Ansett and I Plan going to Ibiza next year much to our 22 year old daughters discust :D she thinks we are too old to Party LOL
 
My wife and I will be in miami and loving the fact that we will have missed most of the build up.

Not really. 9:10 from Euston, arriving Holyhead at 12:50 pm, seeing plenty of the England and Wales countryside. Ferry departs 2:10 pm, arriving Dublin 5:25 pm.

I wanted my first visit to Ireland to be the way my great grandfather and great great grandfather left, by sea (but hopefully a bit more comfortable than in the 1800s).

Lots more space than on a plane, and room to walk around on the ferry. Total cost was 39 pounds.
 
I'm relieved that the date of the election will mean I am at home in BNE. I'm an election night TV junkie and was worried that KRudd was going to call it for October when I'll be tracing around SEAsia and not giving a stuff about domestic politics at all.

Actually federal elections are on a three year cycle. The current government has run their full term. NSW and VIC state elections are on a four year cycle. Don't know about other states.
 
I used to think we should move to a four year fixed term but now I see that could bankrupt us.
 
Wow lots of people travelling and doing amazing things on election day.
We thought we would be in Switzerland(Sept 14) but now will be flying out the day after the election. I am so sick of election politicking already!

Nothing wrong with 4 year terms.

Biggest issue I see is the wrong people become leaders of political parties yet manage to be still around at election time even though all opinion polls were clearly saying they not be there.

The joys of democracy?
