...I bought a 13 inch MBA in September.
I waited until DSE had one of its 10% discount sales then got the GST back on my way out of the country....
What was the nett cost?

Really like the 13 inch Dell XPS for travelling. Older version served me extremely well.

Love my MS Surface RT. Good size for travel, and is both tablet and laptop. Runs all the basics. Excellent compromise on performance and utility.

Microsoft Surface Pro is absolutely excellent!

How are you finding the battery life? Wondering whether to replace Mrs Here2go's 1st gen Macbook Air with a Surface Pro or Asus of some variety.

I love the click-in keyboard that allows the tablet->laptop transition. Battery life has always got me through a day at uni but it's not continuous use for 8hrs or something. Couldn't tell you exactly how long it lasts as I haven't done a rundown test, but it keeps me happy :)

That had me hooked on the RT tablet too. The Surface RT makes iPad users suffer from capability envy, and from what I gather, Pro does the same for MBA owners. #Fanboy

RT only supports Metro apps. No interest from me for a Windows device that doesn't run normal Windows apps.

True, but as a user that is slowly moving back to MS from Apple, I have no interest in Aero except for tax (I still have an emulator for that, even if it runs like a 2 legged dog. WP8/W8 is just amazing. Makes Apple look like the Big Blue (IBM) of old.

I'm also a 13" MacBook Air slave - it has been horrendously convenient when travelling. Never had any performance issues.
