So far, we seem to limit the discussion to the premium cabins.

What about Y or Y+ ????

What is the etiquette for wearing F/J PJ at the back of the bus ?

Or sleeping upright (yes, that's you JohnK) in PJ looks odd ?

Could be called a wunker by some fellow passengers, I may hazard a guess.

it's no different to wearing a comfortable pair of tracksuit pants and a t-shirt I guess. Sitting in jeans for 14 hours to DXB and then another 7 to LHR might be a bit uncomfortable?

Wearing QF J PJs in QF Y? could be a bit of a disadvantage. Crew might get confused and wonder how they can serve your meal in two hours.

that said it might smack a bit of 'look at me' and I'd prolly go for a t-shirt

interesting point on LAG rules - mt experience has been that airline amenity kits seem to be ignored in most cases of security checks. The QF F ones are perhaps the most contentious with the cans of deodorant/shave cream pass without concern (and not in any plastic bag) even through HKG security (transit). Arriving USA I shove them into my suitcase during the bag drop process.

It seems to vary from airport to airport, and perhaps even customs/security officer to customs/security officer. I prefer to avoid all doubt, as the last thing I want is to be held up getting through C&I.

I have worn QF F PJs on a SA J flight to AUS.

I probably received some funny looks but my comfort on the overnight flight out weighed my embarrassment. And I did sleep very well.

No matter what class it is, if it's a night flight I always change to PJ as soon as I enter the cabin (to avoid the rush to toilet after takeoff).
I really liked wearing the LY F class PJ (very good quality) but I haven't flown with them in years so lately I wear the QF PJ on all my long haul flights.
It's funny to see the look on some pax from other parts of the world after I change to PJ with a big kangaroo logo on it

In regards to going to the lavs in socks, Asiana provide slippers to all pax, including Y. Makes me wonder why other airlines don't do the same (other than the obvious cost issue)?

I prefer to wait until after the meal service to change.

I don't think I'd wear them in the Y cabin - feel like a bit of a 'tosser'.

A bit off topic but may save someone a hassle:

In my experience (multiple transfers), LHR T5 Security is very tough on airline amenities kits. Have had Security staff specifically bellowing to those waiting in line that all such kits must come out of bags. Once kits are discovered, the process has been that the bags are then searched thoroughly, with the consequent waste of time. Lesson learned for us. All LAG contents now removed from kits well before Security.

Have had similar experiences with Security at MUC and FRA.

The FA on QF11 (F - last month) commented that I must be a season flyer due to shoes on/off routine......she then talked about the huge number of people that bare feet:shock:

On another funny note......QF8 (DFW-BNE) earlier this week, about 2 hrs out from landing the kids spotted black undies lying in the aisle (upstairs cabin) I got hold of one of FA's who picked them up (with a napkin) and they turned out to be of the "G" string variety.

Had a laugh with the female FA who then went and asked a few contenders if it was theirs!

I like AAs PJs - I wear the top and I change into it usually before push back. ALWAYS wear shoes when walking anywhere in the plane.

TK also provide slippers to all pax.

just astounds me too to see so many in J going to the lavatory without shoes.

Some airlines, like RJ, provide thick socks with a protection layer on the bottom that prevents them from getting wet if accidentally stepping on any unknown liquids.
