Why doesn't the Qantas website work in Safari?

I raised problems with the call centre about QF website using Safari on an ipad and was advised the solution was...

• use a windows computer
• clear your cache, history and cookies
• use chrome only
• say three hail marys while facing South Africa
• Throw a pinch of salt over your shoulder

PS the majority of the above was actual CC advice

It doesn't work that well on Chrome either haha
