Could also see a Points Club only DSC (I think that's happened once before? Don't fully recall)
Works for me!Could also see a Points Club only DSC (I think that's happened once before? Don't fully recall)
Don’t disagree. The end of July‘ers just feel miffed because the announcement came in August (same as the previous extension the year before)…. No doubt the decision was made in June but by the time the announcement had done the review and internal approval process it was already August… (I’m sure a lot of us can relate to that…)I've pretty much requalified P1 thanks to the super generous 1800 rollover so I'm not SO fussed but that's just me. FULLY appreciate the way this has worked out in terms of fairness for Jul-Dec folks. I guess where do you draw the line hough? It's unfortunate QF did not just go ahead and extend the year instead of half of it, but that's life. Still very generous compared to many programs out there so honestly no real complaints from me. As usual though QF did not handle these things possibly the best way they could right through - but hindsight is fantastic of course and we ALL have been in pretty much uncharted waters since Feb/Marc 2020.... and it's not done with yet.
I don't want them to do further status rollovers. People need to start flying again to retain status, but a DSC offer would certainly help with retaining status. If there's no DSC this year I'll probably drop down to SG and then possibly try for WP again when there is next a DSC offer.I've pretty much requalified P1 thanks to the super generous 1800 rollover so I'm not SO fussed but that's just me. Too early in the year for a DSC? I'd say a flash J sale around the 26/01 long weekend and DSC from mid-Feb ... Alternatively, given that the 30% off points sale is over, time for a DSC, perhaps?Preparing for DSC?!

They don't normally take the system down for any length of time to launch a promotion!Preparing for DSC?!

unusual. seems time for a devaluation or regig to (more) dynamic pricing?!
well we shall see.
Oi! Knock it off.unusual. seems time for a devaluation or regig to (more) dynamic pricing?!

Having spent the past 3 decades in IT and specifically doing infrastructure system upgrades I do understand this.Or it could just be routine maintenance. In fact it's most likely that. Pretty common in any IT system.
Major changes like you have suggested are announced months before they are implemented.
Oi! Knock it off.
You will be held responsible if that is the outcome.
Half the site already think you work for them!

I would just note the timing seems odd. 7pm AEDT-7am is a fairly big window, and it's unusual to do this kind of thing on a working day (tues-wed). Certainly in my experiences at various organisations we would do regular maintenance, OS upgrades/patches or software changes as much out of hours as possible, such as >10pm on a Fri/Sat or Sat/Su type window. Of course it was difficult for some locations with multiple locations (eg: I worked for one financial services company that had offices from Perth to NZ, so we had limited windows from post shutdown of PER hours (which might be up to 2300 AEDT, up to opening of AKL office/call taking, which would be say 0500 AEDT. Sometimes even less windows (one place I worked it was grudgingly given between like 0100-0400 on a Sunday). So anyway... it seems an unusual window to me.. The timing does seem interesting though.
Let's hope if any software upgrades are happening they've done proper testing so Wednesday isn't a nightmare ....
Well yes, but I am cynical and it could also be preparation for any changes to come.
I do agree that announcement of significant changes should be given well ahead of time - absolutely.
no doubt I'm wrong and that would be great! (and not my first rodeo!)

only half?! my attempt to escape that whole accusation of working for marketing has clearly been more successful than I imagined!
Yes, might even shake loose some reward seats post 31 July!well let's hope, and very seriously, some of the issues are absolutely sorted out. that would be worth it for sure.
