Will Qantas have a March 2023 double status credit promotion?

Well, you should be able to do SYD-BNE-NOU-BNE-SYD. I only every saw SYD-NOU and BNE-NOU on sale.
Yep, I meant to say “apart from” the domestic hops to/from the international flights - which I know many have managed to get to work.

Doesn’t work too well departing from SYD if you want F lounge time…😔
NAN would be great, last year outside the DSC SY-NAN in J return on QF was $1.3k
A few years ago, I was able to nest SYD-NAN (ret) for ~$1,200 J on FJ metal (QF codes) and NAN-LAX (ret) ~$2k J with QF codes - seperate tickets. We knew the same plane was flying SYD-NAN-LAX, so reasonably safe endeavour but we did a couple days stopover in NAN coming home but probably could have flown through also.

Maybe a bit more complicated now with multiple routes and extra wide body aircraft. Plus, if they do have one aircraft go tech, it can have a nasty ripple on affects for days.

Again, academic if codeshares aren’t in play for a DSC but still an interesting option.

Yeah, that NZ one was very popular I recall.
I had 3 genuine trips to WGN and CHC that I booked during that sale and will lead to P1. Was interesting when I flew chatting to people that paid more for a Y return from Melbourne than I did for the flights from BNE. I don't think I will be as fortunate this year

How did you speak to them? I thought there were bouncers on the plane to keep the Y passengers contained to their side of the cabin! 🤣

All this talk about cheapo J fares to NZ is making me think about booking a trip next week. I'm coming off of a work trip on Friday this week. Wouldn't mind a trip across the pond to utilise a DSC voucher that expires 21/03 ....

Grr double points not interested in, double DSCs yes - they really have misread the market.

Anyone with Point Club or PC+ has plenty of points and obviously no problem earning them. Double/Tripple points offers to these members will do nothing to have them spend those points, whereas a DSC would see them burning points and earning SCs. These members dont earn points flying or not very many (since the 20k cap for PC form flying is not much).

Triple points on Qantas flights for PC+ members!!!!

So, so close
Got this offer. The offer email is worded to give the feeling that it was targeted/tailored/special offer. In any case, 5 day window finishing at 13/03. Depending on when the SFO sale is getting over, we can sort of guess some news around the 3rd week of Mar, or 4th week, which ties in with last year's promo release ...

Actually I earn a ton of points from flying and I am also PC. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone here.

So not quite true to say that these members don’t earn them from flying.
I agree that the target audience on here PC/PC+ etc and others would probably prefer DSC.

I'm about 50/50 - I usually just scrape in to PC. It's a 20K cap for flying yes, but then if I book with QF I get all the bonus credit card points too.

Perhaps the market is a glut of SGs and WPs who have had extension after extension, and now with all the talk of lounge upgrades, QF is happy for those numbers to come down a bit.

Having just booked two international trips it doesn't appear that QF is having trouble selling tickets, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't see why QF would run a DSC promotion now, it would just be adding fuel to the fire.

Ditto. But I’ve already max’d my 20K flying component for PC/PC+ (and already requal PC). I need creative non CC churn points to reach PC+ for the first time (at least for the 100 SC if we can’t get DSC!).

The real boon will be for those booking premium cabins long haul, particularly on OPM. For instance SYD to LHR in Premium Economy as a Gold attracts 24,800 points so a double points promotion would make that 49,600 which is roughly a third of the way to earning Points Club status right there to say nothing of the many international awards and upgrades one could use said points for. And you didn't even need to buy cases of wine for that either! 😂
