Will you miss the headphone jack? (iPhone 7 discussion)

Here's my thoughts after heavy use since Friday.
Super fast to open Apps.
The camera is a massive improvement over my previous 6plus, terrific zoom but just the actual picture quality is brilliant. Selfie camera much improved too.
It takes a bit of getting used to but I like the new home button.
Downsides ? The casing seems to warm up a bit with prolonged use.

Improved specs and a new OS, but try it under stress load conditions before you pass judgement.

Just kidding, it should be fine. How slow could it have possibly been previously? (Unless you ran a lot of junk at the same time)

It takes a bit of getting used to pressing the home button to unlock rather than swipe across! (I'm talking about my old iPhone 5 now running iOS 10)

You'd think that it's a simpler system so it'd be easy to get used to...

As long as it doesn't blow up, we're all good ;)

I like the idea of a good camera - I thought the 6 was pretty good. I am still getting used to not swiping.

Ho ho ho. I got an iPhone 7 a month back, when Telstra made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

I didn't miss the headphone jack until just now, when I was on the Virgin flight HBA-SYD, and I got out my headphones out to watch some IFE and ... oops

Yes, exact same thing happened to me with my laptop. I now carry around in my work bag headphones with both connectors, and keep the new adaptor in my Bose headphone case.

I found for the first time a few weeks ago I needed to recharge my phone and use the headphones to make a call... it was touch and go whether the battery would last the call or not.

I don't miss it too much. Luckily Apple didn't try charge us $30 for the adapters so it's easy to buy a few and stick them in the Bose bag, etc. Most annoying thing I'm finding now is I can't charge the phone and listen to something at the same time.

Indeed.

And belated welcome to AFF.

Reviving a old thread now...

Apple are launching a Red version of the iPhone 7 and 7 plus... Only available in 128gb and 256gb

I'm not upgrading to 7 and I'm due for an upgrade. I just can't do without the headphone jack as I often listen at night while charging. And I know those Bluetooth ears are going to get lost.

You should seriously consider it.
Charge your phone overnight and use the lightning to headphone jack adapter for your existing headphones if you don't want to replace them.
The 7 Plus is light years ahead of my old 6 plus, especially so in photo and video. Far, far superior.

Minor incremental improvements on minor incremental improvements on minor incremental improvements on a design that hasn't changed much in 10 years. It's the Apple way

In design yes, but not for the camera at least not for this edition.

5 months of using iphone7 I do miss the 3.5mm headphone input. Not from a charging + music at the same time perspective but when I'm rushing somewhere and forget to bring the adapter. Switching from pc with a proper headphone input to phone and back again means I need to carry multiple adapters and it can be frustrating.

I solved that problem by having a few of those adapters in key bags/ places at any one time.

It appears that the new Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ will be retaining the headphone socket. I am very happy about that, as even though I have the QC35, I still use my QC20 as well.

Just keep it away from your balls or brain.....
