Wine Glasses, Decanters etc

I found these really didn't do much. Denture cleaning tablets are the way to go. Requires next to zero effort.
The amount of swirling around with cleaning balls is probably proportional to the length the stain has been there.

And yes, denture cleaning tablet are particularly effective too, but perhaps overkill for everyday use... The ones I have are white not blue though...?

Seems like little blue tablets solve all sorts of problems these days 🤣
Or yellow / gold coloured ones...

Tks AnzacPaul for posting this - I shot into Bunnings Mentone but alas no 1ltr ones there.

But I am a tad confused with this beaker type item to be used as a decanter - is not the requirement to have considerable surface area to allow the air to contact the wine to enhance the flavour and allow it to breath?

Does not the narrowing of the beaker towards the top fly in the face of this concept?

Just the act of decanting does a pretty good job of mixing the wine and air. You can also just give the wine a good swirl around once in the decanter to give it some more air. However, you're right. IF you really want to maximise air/liquid surface area, then a decanter like this one of mine is the way to go

I should have mentioned and may be different at other stores, but 250ml and 500ml were in a seperate aisle from the 1000ml. In my case they were in the irrigation and lawn care aisles

They don’t come up in a search on the website- do you have their number - a bit to blurry on the photo

Just use one of these. $4.60 (or 4 interest-free payments of $1.15 :) )

I bought a few of these, as well as a few in the larger sizes (2L, 3L)...

Whilst they do "work", I personally find that the weight of the conical flask is quite different to a normal carafe, and also the fact that the spout doesn't widen at the top means they do feel like they may be easy to drop if you don't use two hands, or pour carefully.

Straws?

No EOFY glassware sales? I'm down to one Shiraz glass...
Riedel just finished theirs and Peter's of Kensington had some last week. I am sure you will find some its not EOFY yet. Try Victoria's Basement they had glasses on sale in Sundays Herald Sun.
