Don't like stemless glasses. The whole purpose of a wine glass is to hold it by the stem or base so that your hand does not warm the wine. Stemless makes no sense to me.
Stem have their advantages - the wine doesn't warm, and they don't show finger marks if you are at a finger food party However, stemless have their place. They are much harder to knock over when in an animated conversation with hands waving aroundDon't like stemless glasses. Amused. We've actually lost a couple of big Riedel Shiraz glasses over the years through the animated discussions, whereas the stemless just roll.Stem have their advantages - the wine doesn't warm, and they don't show finger marks if you are at a finger food party However, stemless have their place. Not much talk about decanters. I don't have an actual decanter but I am unscientifically using a labatory flask as a decanter substitute
U need to drink faster then to not warm up the glass

Your preferred decanter is the same as mine, does a great job.My collection. I use the one second from the left the most often as it provides the largest surface area for aeration. The one on the left is great for a dinner party and actually pours nicely. The first one I mentioned is the most difficult to pour from. The Penfolds one is great for whites if you want to put it into the fridge.

I am in the MEL J Lounge waiting for my next flight and could not help but hear and watch a couple sitting across from me on the island bench. I had not realised just how important the wine glass is to some people - on arriving in the lounge the gentleman went and got his friend/colleague a glass of bubbles - that was ok, once it was finished the lady asked him to get her some red - he went off to get some for her. On his return she made it very clear that she was not happy that they had served him red wine in a white wine glass, she moved it a meter or so away from herself and instructed him to go back and get another - this time in a proper glass - he sulked off and returned with a coffee for her.

Good to see that those in J have standards!
How do you clean the bottom and sides of that decanter (second from left)?
Yes, there are standards in here - one standard wine glass* to suit all of their red and white offerings
*there are also Champagne style flutes for the bubbles

Sodium Metabisulphite is a good alternative. Or even teaspoon of bleach in 2 litres of water and left overnight.Reidel sells little steel balls you can use to clean out any accumulated guff in decanters.
