Woken up for snoring :)

Apparently I snore loudly all the time. The key to my snoring is to fall asleep before I do and then you'll be fine.

Interesting that my 4 month old daughter also snores. Has been snoring for a while. Looks like she's picked up lots of daddy's bad habits. Sorry.

Should get her in with a paediatric ENT if it's habitual snoring. Dr David McIntosh has a quick checklist to see if a check is needed:

Have you heard of the STUBR questionaire? OK probably not. But it is a simple and important survey for parents to fill in. Here are the questions:
1. Does your child snore more than half the time?
2. Do they snore loudly?
3. Are they having trouble breathing or struggling to breathe?
4. Do they wake up unrefreshed or tired?
5. Do they stop breathing at night?
If you answered yes to any 3 of these or answered yes to number 5, then your child needs to see a paediatric ENT that specialises in airway problems.
We would add mouth breathing and teeth grinding to his list also, so please keep that in mind too.

Not sure how well regarded this website is but it has word from Dr McIntosh about snoring in babies.

Thanks CaviAck. Have not answered Yes to 3 of those questions and definitely not question 5. Daughter is full of energy. Fights sleep and sometimes when she falls asleep sucking on wifes nipple she snores.

Just trying to highlight that snoring is quite natural.

Well that's good to hear, I was just making sure that you're aware that snoring in babies and children can be abnormal. A lot of the time people think it's cute that a baby snores or that they will grow out of it and is a naive way of thinking. If it's not normal as per signs mentioned above it could lead to lots of other things if not corrected promptly. But yes, snoring can be perfectly normal and occur without any major issues.
