Guessing the $5.95 ones are being phased out.

This process started more than 6 months ago. I haven't seen one of these for at least 3 months. But there were reports during the last promo that people were finding the $5.95 card and that it didn't trigger the bonus points associated with that promo.

Like some kind of miracle, every store I visited today had at least 50 x theperfectgift card. Plus a display feature. I know these cards weren't there earlier in the week.

New stock arrived last night, each store got 50 min.
That must have been a significant logistical achievement. I doubt some of the stores I visit are capable of achieving this. Perhaps it's more likely that stock was already in store but was held back.

bought 50 today no issues, store had over 100. I ran out of e-gift cards. Glad my local store isn't enforcing the "no buying gift card with gift card" policy that some have reported.

Seems to be a limit on number you can claim per IP address. No biggie though.
This has occurred every time similar promotions have occurred. Reset you IP address after 10 redemptions.

I too have noticed almost timed restock of these gift cards,

it seems this deal is fairly popular, but not like the cards have all disappeared by close of business on the first day,

to most people, $3.05 profit is simply not worth the effort

edit; for me, its the redeeming process thats going to make or break this deal, how easy or hard is this going to be???

I dont think they are going to allow you to walk in with $10x100 which will take ages,

in my experience, different retailers and stores react differently, some are amazed, some are surprised, some are impressed, some are annoyed, some get angry while some call head office and start questioning why you have so many

The ozbargain thread indicated that people were able to combine say 5x $10 into a $50 gift card online then rinse and repeat.

So you can buy a new $50 e gift card with the $10 e gift cards you have from this deal?

If so, wouldn't that also extend the expiry date?

UPDATE: Thought that I'd give this a try.

Bought a $40 egift card using 4 of the $10 egift cards from the promo.

Order says it has been successfully processed.

Still waiting on the email for the new $40 egift card to arrive.

UPDATE 2: New $40 JB egift card came through about 50 mins after purchase made. It also has a barcode. And it expires in 99 years time!

LOTS of perfect gift cards in stock today. Seem fairly clear that they were holding them back until the promo started.

Just redeemed the first of my $10 JB cards. Good to see they come with a barcode this time :)

Good to hear the consolidation process works.

Went to one store yesterday and bought as many as I could with the egift cards I had. Went through self serve with no problem.
Went to the same one this morning and bought the rest (there were ~15 the first time I went). Attendant said I couldn't do it through self serve because they won't activate. Went to the counter and used more egift cards to buy them without a hitch. Hmm.

Sometimes the cards do not activated properly and a lot of customers don't realise when going through self ch3ckout, thus they tell you to use the manned counters.

I have had it when I went to manned counters and cards did not activate.

Staff just want to avoid the non activated cards make sure customers have the correct ones before leaving the store. Some people don't check.

Did you get the activation slip ? When it didnt activate

In self serve checkout, the screen will show that there is failed activation, then a failed activation slip will print out. You will then need to bring this slip to the manned checkout for them to reprocess/reactivate it.

Yes. It said "Unsucessful". This was done at the manned counter and the staffed saw it, then just went and got a new one and gave me that one.

This was during the last EFTPOS promo.

That's a relief, I was thinking that you wouldn't know until you tried using it, that would be troublesome.
