Woolworths gift card thread

yeah I always check and make sure now, since the system is a bit glitchy. Used to be ok back in the day.

Also one store refused to sell me more (after buying 10 one day, and going back the next) claiming that I can not buy more than 10 per promo period. Though the catalogue says " Limit 10 per customer". And nothing else...

Ive emailed woolies asking them to clarify.

Just change the time that you go? Morning / night? Doubt you would bump into the same staff.

Went yesterday arvo, and went this morning.
Same "manager" or staff. lol they must want to work a lot.
Should buy gift cards instead to make money ahaaaaa

The staff told me to "go to another store" (to buy them).

Still lots of stock about in the stores I've been to today. Don't think this promo is very popular. Got my eye on a new washing machine so need around 100 cards. 80+% off is a bargain I'll happily take any day of the week.

I'm eyeing on a new tv, 300-400 cards might be a stretch though. Will see how many I can buy today, don't want to put too much into WISH cards if it has been cleared out.

this might be the best promo so far.
I have just combined my cards 5 * $10 to 1 * $50 online @ jbhifi via this link https://www.jbhifi.com.au/Gift-Cards/Gift-Card-Purchase/
As per info posted on ozb, only 5 giftcards are allowed per transaction so I am assuming I can combine 5 * $50 to 1 * $250 later. Takes away much of the hassles dealing with $10 gift cards.

For those with static IP (home broadband and mobile), have you found a way to get around this?
you have a static ip on your mobile phone? or is that mobile internet at home?
mobile phone and airplane mode or data on/off to reset ip. Hotspot your phone to use on laptop.

If this works it would be fantastic.

Using these gift cards has been a night mare for me for some promos

The 50card allocation per store that I didn't think was true seems to fit. Each store has about 10 hooks with 4 to 5 on them

And yes this promo doesn't seem very popular

Good for me
Jbhifi here I come!

yes i've done 70 * $10 -- > 14 * $50 -- > 2 * $250 and waiting on more to convert the rest. Email came within 30minutes from JB hifi. Very easy!

If resetting your modem does not work here's three options:

1) Try Anonymouse.org

2) Use your mobile as a hot spot. You can reset this IP as many times as you need.

3) Use a public wifi at a cafe, shopping centre or a library. Or you could use your work IP if this is possible.

I've seen stores with 100's of cards and some with 0. This was on Wednesday. Do not believe that exactly 50 was allocated for every store.

Normally I My experience restocking depends on the ordering person

So when a promo starts if the store hasn't ordered. There will be none.

This time I've noticed that virtually all stores have a decent amount all on display neatly
Which is not normal for me

I'm confused and this could be a dumb Q because I'm not seeing it - where on that linked page can you combine gift cards? I have some leftover balances scattered across a few JB GCs that I wouldn't mind consolidating.

Nominate the value of the gift card you want. Then on the payment page use your current gift cards to pay for the new card. It's very straight forward. I've now done this 20 times.

Thanks for the suggestions about the IP. Interestingly I redeemed more today at home (static) and they worked.
Yesterday I tested turning my mobile (hotspot) data on and off and it had the same IP.
Today I did it with more time in between and they are now different. Ah.

Another tip for the gift cards is that it is possible the $100 eftpos cards are in the same rack as the DJ cards. Both have black cardboard and appear kinda similar. I found 12 in a store that had previously sold out. Maybe someone hid them for buying later or staff were careless. There were multiple cards on multiple racks, if that means anything.

There are more stores on my list that I am yet to go to, so my initial target was for say 30 cards. I could go into well over 100 if I play my cards right. I was thinking of 200 for a laptop, amongst other things, but having 20k in gift cards might be pushing it a bit.

Wow found my local store this time stocked up hard, 10 racks of them. so probably easy 500 on shelf. Just came back from it, but only got 20 with 2 people
