Woolworths gift card thread

I tried 4 stores today. None had signage. And none of the cards generated any bonus points.

Very poorly set up promotion from Woolworths in my view.

It's only for stores which normally promote Ramadan. I went to these stores in Melb and they were sold out, had signage on.

Hi all,
Just having a look through the Online Mall and saw that Redballoon is on there, which got my mind going.
Through the Online Mall you get 4 points per dollar. From time to time Woolies do RB gift cards for 20 to 30% off from memory.
I have just done a test run on a purchase but have not paid as it was just a test. but I found that not only could you purchase an experience but also was given the opportunity to purchase RB gift cards. In the payment section where it asks for payment method one method is gift card or voucher.
Example
If I purchase say $400 of RB gift cards @ 30% off the cost is $280.
I then go to Qantas Mall and purchase a $400 product which is only costing $280 but I get 1600 Q points.

Of course this does not include use of egift card.

Just thought I would see if anybody has ever tried this.

Of course if it let you buy gift cards with the gift cards you could recycle as well.

Couldn't see anything in the T&C to not allow.

Thoughts would be much appreciated.

Starting this Wednesday 27th June to Tuesday 3rd July at Woolworths stores.
Purchase a $50, $100 or $200 Myer gift card and receive a bonus 10% on top.
Limit 10 per customer.

Online mall is basically an affiliate link, so as long as you can use the gift card at the RB store, you should be fine. It is technically possible the affiliate link will get zero commission in the case of a payment being made by gift card but it's certainly worth trying.

At chatswood nsw,
Tried converting a egiftcard to a physical wish giftcard at a manned checkout and when it came to paying via egiftcard, after entering the giftcard number, the terminal declined the transaction.
Went to a self serve checkout and payment via egiftcard went through. I only use the physical giftcard for filling up petrol at caltex so only buy it once a month or 2 but I can feel that woolworths will be closing this buying giftcard via egiftcard in nsw very soon.

Hi guys,

I made an order for a Woolworths physical gift card to be sent to a friend of mine. It’s been 3 business days and I’ve chosen the courier delivery (6 business days).
My order has been stuck on ‘gift cards being issued’ for 3 days now. Has anyone had experience with this? Surely it doesn’t take 3 days to issue a card when they do it instantly in store!!!

3 days isn't necessarily a lot. There's a number of factors at play including inter alia, if this was your first ever order or you're using a new card.

I suppose so. As long as it is delivered within a timely manner I’m okay with that. I’m just worried there might be problems because delivery address isn’t the same as billing address.
If it says ‘gift card is being issued’, it should be fine right? I also gave them a ring and they said the order went to their gift card manufacturer on Tuesday.

Bought some eWISH cards in the last couple of days and noticed a coupe of things"

1) The system no longer stores your credit card details.
2) The system no longer asks you to verify by SMS.

I assume this wasn't just for me. When did this happen?

Yes, I noticed that the last couple of times I bought.

The SMS verification was actually quite short lived. I'm OK with them not storing card details as I stopped doing that on web sites years ago.

I just buy about $4,000 of physical Woolies gift cards at a time through RACWA on my Amex Platinum Edge CC. Those plastic cards take about a week to turn up by snail mail.

Was just told by snarly customer service desk lady only 1’s are “high theft” items and there’s isnt a Woolworths in the country that has the $100 ones in stock.

Not sure what’s she’s smoking but if you know of any woolies in Brisbane/Gold Coast that has them, please let me know. Would save me some time this weekend.

Tell them I'm in Vic and across 10 stores in my area there is collectively about 800 of them

I didn't know they could even check those stock levels. Until. Recently when the store manager showed me the system for a different gift card.

According to her system there was like 3 left in my state.
I didn't believe her so I went to multiple woolworths to check later and found that each one almost had 100 so its safe to say their system stock levels for gift cards are useless

Thanks All. Should have clarified, I didn't believe a word she said. She sounded like she didn't know what she was talking about just wanted to "one up" me and prove me wrong.
Will keep searching, really need them for this weekend (large bill to pay).
