Woolworths gift card thread

$50 Uber gift card at Coles has 2000 flybuys points until tomorrow, much better offer than Woollies

That offer finishes tomorrow and you may have missed that that offer was mentioned in the Coles gift card thread last week:

Coles gift card offers

You do not state this, but it's also worth remembering that Coles had a limit of only one card per account for the bonus points.

Is the 'not being able to purchase a gift card with an eGift card' a widespread issue or just occurring in certain areas? Was able to do so last week at a manned register and hope that continues.

Getting more and more widespread.

C have totally closed the ability to convert an e-gc into a plastic say Coles Myer Group plastic card (which is good for Officeworks, Coles Express etc etc. C seem to have noticed the abrupt fall in C Express purchases from FB holders as now 10 cpl offers come out regularly.

Software update/new terminals seem to be doing the same with W.

It's definitely not wide spread. I've seen only a handful of reports of problems over the past few months. It may, however, increase as a problem.

This is not correct. And has never been correct as an absolute. It's definitely harder to do, but it can still be done. I used a Coles egift card to buy a Coles Myer giftcard this morning at Coles.

Wow! Hope springs...

Have tried it out in just over 12 different C locations in Sydney on both sides of the harbour and much further north in NSW and failed every time since early 2017 (perhaps late 2016 even).

Gave up trying last August, so will give it another go.

Can still buy 3rd party ones but on both the self serve and operator operated the message has been the same.

Had 2 stores not allow using an eGC to buy a physical GC.
First store, went to buy a WISH card with an eWISH. Computer says no.
Tried to include grocery items at a different store for the same and the computer said no.
I know of another one that I frequent with the "updated" POS and will try probably next week.

Not good....

From memory buying WISH card with an egift card has been a problem for many months. There's no work around.

Third party gift cards are different.

Current Wollies catalogue has 1000 bonus points on $50 Ultimate Teens cards.
Fine print at the bottom of the catalogue pages states "^ limit 1 per customer".

Is this new? I was under the impression you could buy multiple gift cards and get bonus points for all in the past!

I haven't noticed it before. But I can tell you that I bought 10 cards today and received the bonus for all of those cards.

Quick q re: the Uber gift cards. I notice Woolworths is now stocking $25, $50 and pick your own denomination. If you can only buy those, and get the $50, does that still award you the bonus points?

I would expect that the bonus points are only on the advertised cards.

Interesting - bought 5x$50 and 4x$30 teen cards to use at JB.
Somehow got 3000 points - anyone got any ideas ?
Will see what the customer service people have to say tomorrow

Starts this Wednesday (13/6/18):

Buy a $30 Netflix, Google Play, Ultimate Teens or Dymocks gift card get 600 bonus points.

Buy a $50 Uber, Webjet, Netflix, Google Play, Ultimate Teens or Dymocks gift card get 1000 bonus points.

Buy a $100 Webjet or Accor Hotels gift card get 2000 bonus points.

Do you still receive the bonus points if using an egiftcard? How long does the bonus typically take to show up?
