Woolworths gift card thread

Devastated.
Just tried in Se Melbourne

Trans not allowed
Did 1 card, trans not alllowed
Did 1 card and 1 item
Trans not allowed

I attempted to buy 4 (which is my normal transaction amount) at a manned checkout and asked to pay by egift card. I then was prompted to enter the egift card number which I did. As soon as I pressed enter (which then takes you to the pin enter) it returned the transaction not allowed error. My checkout angel then transferred the transaction to the duty manager who again tried. She then tried just one card thinking that perhaps the egift had been partially used. Still no go.

Is there a limit on the number of V1s that can be used over the counter at AP?

I've previously used 5 but today when I tried to pay a $1600 bill the agent said she didn't think you can use that many at one time. (Actually, she admitted she didn't know but wouldn't do it anyway.)

As it's an insurance bill I can't split the payment.

There's no limit. But it's at their discretion. Tell your insurance company to allow you to split the bill or you will take your business elsewhere. This has worked for me.

Went to a different post office and they happily accepted 17 x V1s to pay the insurance.:)

Anyone have any luck buying v1s with e gift card today? I think my local woolies software has been updated... now its says the item is not allowed.

No problem purchasing 24 over the past couple of days in my local stores.:)

Will have to stock up tomorrow, just in case.:(

Hmm interesting

Been to a few places. Not. One of them. Has worked

The system may have had an update/processing issue last night. So all is good. No need to go out and get 4 figure cards, seems like a waste of money spending 16k on cards, what about the interest lost!!

Just tried another one.
Didnt work

Even some of the staff say head office have been dealing with it

Tried to buy a westfield gift card using egift card at one of the Sydney metro woolies today -- after you input the card number, it says "transaction not allowed"

:(
