Woolworths gift card thread

I’m an idiot. Should have kept up to date with this thread. Just bought 1k in EGC and Spring Hill woolies - transaction denied.

Is it only electronic discounted Wish gift cards which are being denied? I use the plastic cards from RACV branches and occasionally buy JB HI FI cards with them. If this method won't work in the future I have other ways of getting discounted JB cards.

Looks like my local woolies all patched. This could be state related? QLD here..
Store manager at Spring Hill in Brisbane told me all of QLD is patched. NSW is likely the only one that hasn't finished patching/upgrading. She was terribly apologetic but it didn't help unfortunately.

bugger, should've bought some yesterday from my local store.
denied today like others

will try another local store on the way home

Anyone have any creative ideas on what to do for a VA/Coles customer (not WOW/QF) with 1K of eGC's to spend? Don't really want to switch my grocery shopping and miss out on the status credits.

Do you live in Sydney? Like you, I'm also a Coles/VA customer so my remaining EGCs will serve as Opal top-ups. Well, I'll actually keep buying them as I'm going to be using Opal (i.e. Sydney's public transport) for the foreseeable future...

Unfortunately not, and we can't top up gocards anywhere useful.

These gift cards are not just limited to groceries.

All places I'd switch to a Coles brand to get flybuys... Coles Shell, Target/Kmart, Liquorland. I will probably use it over time at Caltex when it's cheaper/closer/more convenient.

I managed to buy 2 x $100 Virgin Australia gift cards by e-gift this evening, so it definitely isn't all gift cards. Visa One did not work at the same till (by e-gift).
