Woolworths gift card thread

Lots of stock of the Only1 Visa's at my local Woolies.

They had a display in store for this promotion. Last week there was no display for theperfect gift card promotion.

I only saw only one display for the perfects.
Nowhere had run out though I was quite restrained in my buying

Catalogue imposes no limits. Stores may try to.

Safest in my experience to buy no more than 10 at a time and then come back and do so as many times as you want.
Wow...pardon the pun. Faced an inquisition when I bought 10 today. Tried to buy more but was stopped...felt like I was trying to rob them. They made up some excuse where they can only sell 10 per day. Asked them politely to show me the Ts and Cs showing that but they couldn't....

Ive been getting the same(for the perfect gift promo). I've also had 1 store confirmed with the manager on duty that I would banned from the store if I buy more than 10 per day. He said the store will get a call from head office asking why a customer has purchased more than 10 from their store that day. I've gotten the name of the manager and sent a complaint via their feedback form.
If they want to limit the purchase(which they have the right to), should be clearly written and not made up depending on which way the wind is blowing.

some managers are on a power trip, some managers are just being too careful,

no point in arguing with them and bringing attention to yourself,

just go back when the manager isnt on, hihgly unlikely theyve got a photo of you banning you from buying m0re

worst case scenario go to another store, or get someone else to buy for you using your cards

Happens about 75% of the time for me. Best advice is to ignore it. Don't protest. Don't draw attention to yourself. You can't win an argument wirh them even though they are wrong. Play the game. Go to another store or come back a few hours later when different staff are rostered.

This opportunity is far too lucrative to miss out on. Its also now too rare to miss out on. Keep your head down and rake in the free money :)

I 'm sure it has been asked and answered before but I can't find it...can I use the Only 1 Visa to pay the ATO? At 0.78% surcharge for Visa cards, I calculate I'll need to pay $99.23 (taking into account 0,78% surchange) to use up the full $100 value of the Only 1 Visa. Is my maths right?

Only1s were blocked on the ATO portal quite a while back. Used to be the best use for me

Only1 visa cards must have made the Daigou list! I have been buying them in batches of 5 to avoid scrutiny.

yes that has been my strategy too. Usually hit up the manned registers first then back in then another manned checkout who is facing the other way and so on until self checkouts. Also I usually aim for the younger employees over the older ones. And 5 is a good number so that activations won't take too long.
Woolies must be padding their turnover before EOFY with these two promos running back to back.

The system always calls for an attendant when I use self check out. How do you avoid that?
Unavoidable for over a year. Given no need to keep quiet over the dead eWish loophole, I don't bother using self-serve now

been to a few woolworths to see stock levels in VIC,
virtually every store has heaps of them,
they seem very unpopular, for obvious reasons

Struck a new one today....tried to buy 5 Only 1 Visa GCs (being conservative;) )...was told I had to split the purchase into 2 and 3 cards as $500 is the maximum I can pay in one transaction at the store! WTF!

Not sure I can better this, but today I did have a new experience as well. As I was spending more than $1000 I was told that the transaction had to be authorised by the store manager! Store manager gave me the spiel about fraud. My response was to ask if I could buy 25 cards today. Manager agreed!

A different WOW store told me today that the maximum they will sell to one customer is 10 Gift cards per day as that is their policy. Also, the maximum amount in one transaction is $1000. Anyway, i decided to avoid all the hassles and buy them in multiples of 5...also brought an unenthusiastic +1 along and we managed to buy 45 today. How many do you guys buy? Which bills are the best to pay to get rid of the GCs asap? (some bills make you pay the whole exact amount whilst others allow you pay whatever amount you want)

Rates , utilities and health insurance are my go-tos for only1. Some of this was due to the reduced amex earn on these pre-devaluation (utilities could often be circumvented with paypal)
