Woolworths gift card thread

A word of caution on these.

As with the last time this offer was running the new style of Only1Visa cards (with the cardboard tab covering the bar code) did not trigger bonus points.

YMMV

Points are credited instantly for redemption. No point buying Only1Visa as balance check is hassle free with everywhere VISA.

Yes, sorry if I wasn’t clear.

I scanned the Only1Visa, then scanned my WWR card.

Normally the screen would show “1000 points earned” (or similar). But it did not, so I did not complete the transaction.

I bought am Everywhere Petrol to try it.

Do you know if they work beyond the theme shown on the branding? Ie. can I use the “petrol everywhere” at non-petrol stores?

Bought a lot more than 10 so far at my local W, all of them got 1000 each.
Helps to get to know the staff, some stores get funny when you buy in bulk.

Thanks for answering.
Buying at my local from the lovely staff no problem.
i was just worried that more than 10 per each Woolies reward card may not attract the bonus.
(in the previous promos i think these had a limit of 10 per card)

Todays shopping.
1 x older style plus 4x new ones (red section on the reverse). All activated but 1000 points showing on receipt instead of 5000.

While supervisor was checking what could be done I made another transaction of 5x older style. Receipt for this correctly showed 5000 points.

Supervisor came back. Said she could give me the missing points by putting through a $1 transaction, swiping my rewards card and then paying with her “supervisor card” but this could only be done for 1000 points once per day. I said ok, easier than phoning to try to get issue sorted. (She knows I am a regular who lives nearby.).
Got 1000 points from her transaction. Will need to visit on 3 more days to get the rest.

WARNING for all.
only1 Visa with red section on back still causing problems.

Supervisor has removed all these problem cards from the display.

Exactly the scenario I posted in my warning yesterday. Though I was lucky to spot it before completing the transaction.

The newer style cards had the same issue last time this promotion was running.

@Kangol I can confirm that about three months ago, the Petrol Everywhere (one of the Everywhere suite) did work with the Canberra merchant. I have no more recent experience.
Sadly have just unsuccessfully tried ‘petrol’ card with Canberra merchant. Won’t accept as payment option. Oh well, at least I got the 1000 points/500 QFF, but not sure the $5.95 fee justifies buying more.

I noticed that the Petrol Everywhere and others in the Everywhere suite have the red label on the back of the card the same as that has been identified for the newer version of the Only One VISA cards. Are these also causing a problem with the bonus points not tracking correctly?

I found some old style of Only One VISA and bought them just in case.

I bought Petrol themed cards today with the red safety tab and bonus points credited as expected.
