Woolworths gift card thread

Interesting. I'm not a high-volume ebay user and don't think I've ever returned anything
also, those maximum card limits that can be used on ebay are totally untrue, from trial and error ive roughly worked them out, but others may have different experiences

Do Ebay GCs have a 3 year expiry?
Yes

Is it difficult to find them in store due to demand?

It can be.

I have. Refund is made to the gift card used.

Never had any problems with these card. People that don't understand how gift cards work could have problems I guess. One thing to be alert for is that once you start using a card it is then locked to your Ebay account. But exceptionally easy to use these cards and checking the balance is very easy via this website:

In my experience anyone who indicates difficulties with these gift cards is likely someone that doesn't understand how gift cards work.

Is there a limit to how many eBay gift cards can be used to purchase a single item on eBay? I know the egift cards through flybuys could only be used one per transaction.

" Further, you may only redeem a maximum of eight Gift Cards in any single transaction (and fewer if you are redeeming Gift Cards in combination with other redemption codes, such as coupons or vouchers). "

I concur. Therefore best to buy the $100 cards.

Not always 8 - a friend made a large purchase 2 weeks ago with $500 GCs, could only add 3 and had to pay the rest on CC. Not sure if it caps at $1500 even or somewhere between that and $2k.

Suggest they contact EBay.

For what reason? I don't expect eBay are looking to change their limits based on a phone call requesting it...

edit: I consulted Google:

  1. No more than a total of $1,500 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per transaction, no more than a total of $2,000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per day, and no more than a total of $5,000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per calendar month. Further, you may only redeem a maximum of eight Gift Cards in any single transaction (and fewer if you are redeeming Gift Cards in combination with other redemption codes, such as coupons or vouchers).

Can I use eBay gift cards to purchase third party gift cards?
Nope.

" The Gift Card may not be used to pay eBay or PayPal service fees. The Gift Card also may not be used to buy eBay Gift Cards, third party gift cards, gift certificates, coupons, coins, paper money, virtual currency, or items generally considered to be "bullion" (for example, gold, silver, and other precious metals in the form of coins, bars or ingots). "

One annoyance with the ebay gift cards is that it locks you out after checking 3 GC balances in a day. I can already foresee the cries of "who would need to do that" but if you buy 15 of them it'll take you 5 days just to verify all the codes are correct/activated, which I always do with WW as their system is known to have its weaknesses around card activation. A little less than user friendly IMHO, but still for the deal that you get (1k points per $50) it's well worth it.

Yeah it sux!

Best way,
Put a $2000 item in your cart and checkout and apply all your cards as payment.

Then you can check each card balance without stopping at 3, and without using it

But don't press submit for obvious reasons,
Hence put in expensive stuff in cart

I've not been as lucky as you lot have, then. I've never made it past 3, and it really is annoying, but I'll follow SOPOOR's advice in the future, since arguing over whether or not it's 3 or 4 doesn't solve the problem - like I said, I'm holding way more than that of these cards.
