Woolworths gift card thread

From Wednesday August 18:

3,000 points for $100 Apple Gift Cards (available on all denominations except $20)

Does specify the additional condition that points may take 14 days to credit.

Indeed, and this offer will be starting tomorrow, Wednesday for gift cards above $20. Bonus points will be awarded at a rate of 30xGift Card Amount:

Since these gift cards can be used both at Apple Stores and on iTunes this can be quite a lucrative offer, especially if you plan on buying something from Apple soon as you are essentially getting 15 QF points per dollar spent at the Apple Store, significantly better than the 2 or 3x bonus point offers one typically sees with QF. The only downside, if there is one is that you can't purchase these contactless via Woolies online to get the bonus points. Oh well, I'll just pop into my nearest abandoned Woolies store on a Sunday night when everyone's at home.

One other question I thought I'd ask - are there any fees for purchasing these gift cards like we see with some prepaid debit cards?

Quick update - went to my local Woolies in Thornleigh yesterday to pick up a few items and the gift card. Unfortunately, the store ran out of cards. Oh well, better luck next time I suppose!

I read on point hacks that big W has the apple cards on bonus offer - if, like me, you missed out last time it could be worth checking them out before Wednesday.

I reckon leaving one's LGA to pick up iTunes gift cards on bonus offer is not a reasonable excuse to leave your home here in Sydney? :p

It is if within 5kms of your home. Many LGAs in Sydney are quite small - Hunters Hill, Lane Cove, North Sydney, etc. I find myself crossing LGA boundaries all the time on my morning walk to collect my éssential' take-away coffee.

Is the take-away coffee really essential, though? Personally, I've got a Nespresso Latissma cappuccino machine set up at home for this exact purpose, way better than the stuff you can get at 7-Eleven or elsewhere (and cheaper too)!

To answer your question, the LGA I am in is relatively big (Hornsby) and yet there are no Big-Ws here. The nearest one is some 12 km away from my home at Macquarie Park so obviously well outside the limits. One that is a bit confusing though are suburbs that cross LGA boundaries such as Castle Hill (crosses the Hornsby and the Hills LGA). When I'm out biking in that direction I am constantly passing between signs which say, "Welcome to the Hills Shire," followed a few hundred metres by "Welcome to Hornsby Shire". Which shire am I really in Sire?

Is the biking really essential, though? You could do that too in your home on a trainer. Personally, I've been watching youtube videos on how to identify, and then remove, moles that have changed. Much cheaper and safer to the community too!

Biking is exercise and my understanding is it's permitted. Also nice to go out and get some fresh air during summer as we're entering Summer-Spring and Double-Summer soon. As for moles, the best way to avoid skin cancer is go out when the UV index is lower and/or apply suntan lotion or sunblock depending on the UV index.
