Woolworths gift card thread

Excellent, and good timing for the new Apple product releases.
went to Woolies (Melbourne store) to purchase $1k worth, was asked by the duty manager if I had a valid ABN (which I do). Apparently, in order to buy $1k or greater, Woolies require a hard copy sighting of my ABN document - say what now!

Ended up purchasing $800 worth and grabbed $200 worth from another store.

Over zealous manager.
I did $1000 twice on perfect cards yesterday. The ABN warning came up both times and the cashier just clicked past to the next screen. I also work in one of the Coles brands and we have the same. Just click through and carry on with the sale.

Woollies treating Apple GCs as if they are a finite resource like Bitcoin. What's next? Ration books?

I assume we can use the 10x Everyday Rewards EFTPOS reloadable from last weeks offer to buy these.
I wouldn't assume this. It will need to be confirmed.

I can confirm that you can no longer use a perfectgiftcard to buy another perfectgiftcard at Woolworths.

This is good to know. I can see why they might have blocked this - essentially last weeks offer was easy to generate a number of points buying the $500 re-loadable albeit a 7.95 load fee. You could just keep buying and offloading.

Yep, inception is dead.

I checked yesterday in my local store and there were plenty of $100 and I did think about hiding them but went back today and there were plenty still there

Asked at the service desk of my local WW store and they had the variable value cards in stock but not on display. Picked up 5 x $500 cards and, yes, the rewards points went through!

I might be missing something, but what are you buying at the App Store that potentially may be in the thousands of dollars?

I have an old iTunes $20 card and 2 * $50 App Store & ITunes cards. Does anyone know if these are now treated as Apple GCs that can be used in the physical Apple stores?
