Woolworths gift card thread

So does the 15% off apply to all the cards shown or just the 'pocket money' one? I was thinking the latter.

I'm assuming just the pocket money. Though 20x points is not to be sneezed ay

Thanks for this discussion - apart from the obvious eg via the apple store , are there any ways of spending apple gift cards?

It not clear to me that the x20 applies to anything but the Apple Cards…… the x20 is surrounded by Apple logos to to left and above…… the t+c below the x20 does not say what cards are included, so I will be interested to see if it does apply to Visa pre-paid etc….

Big W has a habit of showing gift cards in their catalogues that aren’t included in any promotion. Only the Pocket Money and Apple gift cards are part of any offer.

I was thinking the same. Quite hard to work out what they are up to. The top 6 are in individual squares but there is no line or anything to seperate them from rolling into the apple promo. Surely they wouldn't give 20 x points on Pocket Money which also has 15% cashback, but it is Woolies and they are slow learners.
It then gets more confusing at the bottom but also makes me think that they are included as it says different activation fees apply and refers $200 and variable cards but doesn't state which card that is.

Can visa activ or Ultimate be used for strata fees or utilities?
Yes, but expect a significant fee for this.

For example, I thought about using the 5% extra on WW eGift cards offer mentioned above, but the T&C those cards are clear that the WW eGift cards can't be used to purchase other gift cards.
They definitely can't be used. Has been this way for a number of years.

It does seem pretty clear to me that the points are only for the Apple cards. Happy to be proven wrong as the variable 'credit' cards could offer some value.

Just a data point for this particular clause in the 20x Apple Gift Card T&C's (emphasis mine):

For cards with a fixed value, limit of 10 cards per day per Rewards Member (can be done across multiple transactions). For variable card where you choose the amount to load, limit of 10 cards per day per Rewards Member in a single transaction.

I went to buy 10 variable load gift cards at a store today and they would sell all the cards to me no problems... but would only process one per transaction as they'd been burned before if one (or more) cards fails to activate in a multiple gift card transaction it's a real pain in the cough to fix. I've actually experienced this before and it took about 40 minutes at the service counter to sort it out, so I don't blame them wanting to do them one by one. I mentioned that the T&C's only allows for a single transaction per day for the variable cards and they said it was just a policy they had at that store but I could try another store if I wanted.

It was hard enough to find a store that actually had the variable cards in stock, so I thought screw it... I'll chance doing it in multiple transactions and just use the Everyday Rewards chat to explain the situation after the fact and get an adjustment. Turns out all the points went through anyway despite being on multiple transactions. I wouldn't rely on this working all the time but for anyone in the same situation, this could be useful to know.

Also a lot of stores are starting to pull Apple Gift Cards off display due to tampering issues and keeping them behind the service counter. Definitely worth checking your cards to ensure they haven't been tampered with (cut open and then resealed), and that the inner card serial number matches the one printed on the outer sleeve before you leave the store and if you don't see any on the shelf check the at the service counter to see if they have any there.

@dylarr I had a store give me the "just call up and they'll give you the points" for a Perfect Gift card promo not long ago. They wouldn't let me buy more than $1000 worth in one transaction and insisted their "system wouldn't process amounts over that". Of course only points for the 1st tx landed. When I called up I was told that the T&C's are solid and that manual points was a goodwill gesture that I should not expect in future. Now I won't proceed if the points aren't shown on the little screen at checkout and I don't listen to the staff's interpretation of the T&C's. They wouldn't know faeces from montmorillonite.

A niche offer - 5% off The Active and The Cinema gift cards purchased through the Woolies Gift Card website (only) until 11.59pm AEDT Friday night.
It's worth mentioning that next week's in-store offer at Woolworths will likely be 10% off various TCN gift cards so I'd give this one a miss.

my colleague`s activ gift $500 card got hacked .any tips?
Happened to me. (S)He has to register the card before calling the help number on the website or the call won't be put through to a human. Will need to have the original activation receipt handy and/or receipt of purchase.

I suggest still registering the card and calling and they will guide her. I have a vague recollection that the credit card statement showing the purchase was another option but as I was lucky that my gift was sent to me with the activation receipt I wasn't paying attention to the other options.

NB not the world's most easy process, or the most helpful people. I'm never buying an Activ card after my experience.
