Woolworths gift card thread

The Jetstar gift cards are good value at 10% off.

Also with Accor gift cards I am assuming I can use these gift cards on Accor website to prepay accommodation? Say I need to pay $230 then I can use 2 x $100 gift cards + $30 credit card payment?

Yes.
Back of the card says 'For reservations: www.accorgiftcards.com.au or contact the hotel direct or call 1300 65 65 65.
I phoned the hotel direct to make a booking today, and I had 3 x $200 cards.
They ran the cars through, 2 have been depleted and the third still has a balance remaining to use either in house, or for another booking.
Remaining balance can also be checked at the above website.
They were purchased in Dec as 10% off face value and 2000WR points per card.....I was happy.

Not that I've come across. The Accor Gift Card website says on it to call the hotel direct or a central number - doesn't give you the ability to book directly with a hotel. Found this one out the hard way when I've gone to redeem online before.

I went to 3 stores today, each one had 7x $100 left, took them all, the checkout lady said I was the first one to buy them today,
Looks like its not the most popular deal, understandbly

I've only just read the Woolies catalogue tonight.
I then jumped on here to see the discussion of this weeks offers and found it interesting that unlike previous offers the amount of interest is not stronger.

I'll certainly be on the hunt for those Jetstar and Accor gift cards tomorrow.
I suspect I might have to visit a few stores to get the number of gift cards I want.

What a steal with those bonus points!

If it wasn't with jetstar i may have some interest.

I bought 11 Jetstar gift cards and bought them 5 x 3 x 3.

The lady at check out somehow convinced me that I could save the $30 rewards on the 1st lot of 3 gift cards but what had happened was the card did not scan properly and the register somehow recognised the promotion and gave me $30 off and she asked if I wanted to save the $30 for later and I said yes and it was reversed.

We then put through the 2nd lot of 3 gift cards and the card scanned this time and there were only $50 rewards from the first lot of 5 gift cards and it was here that I realised the card did not scan the 2nd time.

It took forever to try and fix and even then it was not possible to reverse as the gift cards were already activated. The supervisor said that I had to take it up with Woolworths rewards support at which point I told her it was impossible to deal with them and try to explain what happened. Also the rewards card is my daughters and she is a little too young to deal with them.

She had a chat with the store manager and they gave me a $30 Wish card which was a nice gesture and she told me to try and get the $30 from Woolworths rewards as well. See how we go.

Yes I seem to fall into these things over and over and over and over and over again. Now how does one cope with $1100 worth of Jetstar flights?

Well for me using VISAOne bought with Cashrewards to pay my Tax works best. 3 MR points per $ at 0.54% but actually being upfront due the $10 Cashback. Other avenues to pay tax are not that attractive.

Using VISAone for cashrewards to buy more VISA means no extra FF points unless I am missing something.

Total purchase so far 90 cards ( $360 profit ) :) should be enough for incoming March BAS.

Hi I am new to this thread, just wondering how exactly you do this?. Do I purchase the only1 VISA card using AMEX and then use that only1 VISA to pay the ATO?

The jetstar cards are 20% off if you buy the $50 cards one by one in each 1 transaction at self checkout.
Wow system is glitching. Just some FYI out there.

Better not tell ozbargain!

But if you buy 3x50 in one transaction you will get $10 off only.

Thus this glitch works best at one per transaction. It is a pita.

Worked yesterday and prob due to the low volume of sales it prob isn't fixed.
