Woolworths gift card thread

keep getting "couldn't process your request try again later" when try to buy wish gc via ent book :)
There's been a number of problems with the WISH card system - including using at Cellarmasters + getting a balance - over the last 36 hours.

Suspicious - given the last time W were hacked and did not publicly acknowledge it.....

Makes me wonder if another attempt has been underway for the last couple of days.

Running multiple self-checkout system that each interface with multiple databases (WRewards, inventory, GC, eftpos to name a few) creates great opportunity to test for unforeseen issues.

As each area generally has its own IT staff (previously known as programmers or contract programmers) who mostly work in their own silos - stupid and preventable mistakes abound. Nothing like one variable name being used by different teams in the interlinked programs.

Couldn't happen?

One of the largest Finance Groups in Australia had to delay the sending out of all tax year info to over 300,000 customers for nearly 7 months (and got an ATO extension for all customers) for just this reason. Where a variable was defined and used by 2 different s within the programming teams. So all tax data was corrupted.

Oh those enhancements!

Just tried to use my egift cards in WOW the money app not updating (has been happening for a while now) and the cards coming back as declined (never happened before). Before I report a problem, have any other members had any issues redeeming in the last few days?

used a eWish GC today with no issues. I too find sometimes of late the app will not update and say "offline" next to the update time

Read the past few days and you'll see some problems reported.

I've made I purchases in the past 4 days for wish gift cards via pricepal.
Ranging from 50 to 400

Unfortunately my 4th purchase of 250 the cards have not come.
This reply sux because when I called about a different matter a long time ago they told me they won't resend emails as it's like cash

I hope that's not the case

I did receive the acknowledgement emails

Just went to buy some WISH cards via cash rewards website. Noticed this:

'Expires: 31/12/2017'

Seems the 5% offer may be coming to an end?

I might email them and ask them.
Cos if they are ending. I'm going to stock up by selling a kidney

No. That message definitely showed vis the link on their site for the WISH cards. It may have changed since the time that I posted though.
I see it for the cashrewards.com.au wish gift cards as well.. Expiry 31/12

Have emailed them

That is weird

8 gift card ordered a cross a few days Ranging from value.
7 come in the usual 1 to 2 hrs.

1 has just been sent an invoice one week later. And it's not for the largest amount either

First time for me and I order much larger quantities quite regularly

Maybe a system error

I just had another look. Oddly one link clearly shows the end date 31st Dec, wheres the other two links do not.

So yes it would seem that this rate ends 31st December. So question is whether they just keep rolling it out and that date is just to induce people to buy now.

Is anyone else having issues with the CashRewards website today?
If I click on the Woolworths save 5.00% link as per usual - I now get taken to a screen asking me to sign in (even though I already am...)
All other links seem to be working as per normal - only the 5% off is out of action :(
