Woolworths gift card thread

Eg can we use it as a normal eftpos card?
Does any one know?

No you won't be able to use them as eftpos. I think the system is set up to notice that these cards are sending signal from terminals that are not JB or any of those merchants, they then decline.

My local woolies has just updated firmware, purchased 4x only1 visas on egiftcard - message was something like set item aside and scan next item. the attendant didn't mind approving the purchase but the activation took a good 30 seconds, is that the norm on these updated machines? There was some mention that perhaps the updated machines can handle more than 4 cards - can anyone confirm if they have managed to purchase more than four at a time?

In my areas all but one are on the new systems

The maximums is ten gift cards regardless of value now.

You can do self serve but you need the staff to swipe it.
You also need a staff with a senior pass or manager pass or it will come up with insufficient privileges
And yes it will take up to a minute regardless of 4 or ten

Sometimes the self check out machines when you press pay now hangs for a minute too.
This doesn't happen when you go through a manner teller

Coming up on 24 hours waiting for a Wish GC. I've never waited this long before.

Same to me last weekend, email never arrived....usually 1.5hrs. I Emailed after 24hrs was up and they sent me thru the links manually within an hour. They are open today if you ring/email them.

Every order I’ve placed in the past two weeks has taken over 48hrs and had to chase up. Hoping it’s because of the festive period.

Things have changed over the past month. I went from an expected and usual time of under 2 hours to one purchase taking over 4 days. Even when I contacted them they suggested that this was within their expected time frame for delivery.

Just got a reply. It should be arriving in the next 90 minutes.

Included in the reply:

I do apologise for the delay in receiving your order, our Payments team has been working their best to ensure all orders are processed efficiently as possible during this busy holiday period.

Makes sense.
