Woolworths gift card thread

Did they mean Woolworths generally? Or just that particular store?
Or maybe they simply didn't have accurate knowledge.

Still plenty around in all my local WW though some only have $50 ones left.

Hit the jackpot today. Woolworths Newington (NSW) had more than 50 x $100 theperfectgiftcard with the old $5.95 fee :)

Now that we can no longer buy 4 cards without assistance at the self-service checkout, how may cards do you tend to buy each time?

I'm generally getting 8, which works well paying with 2 x $423.80 eGift cards. But the time it takes to pay with two eGift cards and the delayed wait to receive the eight activation slips can become embarrasing if a queue is forming behind me.

This time around I purchased 25 in one purchase via the self service checkout.

Normally, given the maximum WISH card is $500, I buy only 4 at a time.

But since I'm now out of the AMEX card game for 18 months I am buying a lot less of these then I used to.

Limit of 10 cards.

Don't forget to buy a discounted WISH card first J

Just a warning for anyone buying the Ebay cards. The 'redemption code' that you need to scratch on the back of the card is of very poor quality. It's very easy to scratch through the code and then you can't see what the numbers were. I've written down my numbers separately for future use.

Main draw back is these cards are that they are not at all secure. So I would recommend not buying large quantities for a future possible purchase.

I can't see any problem at all with the security of these cards. 12 digits for each redemption code and they certainly weren't anywhere near sequential.

I don't understand why you are buying Visa 1 GCs without an Amex. Would you mind elaborating?
You seem to have taken my post out of context. Post number 1746 stated 'theperfectgiftcard'. I never mentioned Visa 1 GC at all.

But in any case there are certainly very good reasons to buy either theperfectgiftcard or Visa Only cards without using an AMEX. Just one example would be to meet the minimum spend of a credit card very quickly so it could be churned.

36 hours and counting for my eWish card from CR. This is a new one for me. Just the other day I received one much faster.
I give them nudge everytime at the 24hr mark via https://everydaygiftcards.com.au/?openContactUs=true and usually the cards come through within 2-4hrs from then, it may help if you do it too. I also buy from CR and my last purchase of 10*$500 was placed at 10.41am and excel file received at 2:13pm. The one before that was a 4*$500 and required a nudge at the 24hr mark

Another forum has users reporting that woolworths stores with the new checkout system are starting to enforce "can't buy gift card with gift card". I have not encountered this issue yet as I have been going to a woolies that still has the old checkout system that does not require staff to intervene for giftcard purchases, but if what is said is true then it may be a matter of time before all woolworths stores are going to be like coles and enforce their policy.

That would put a significant dent on my points earning :(

All my Woolworth around me are on the new system. None of them allow gift cards to be purchased regardless of the payment method. I just take those gift cards to checkout and buy them as usual. No changes at all for now.

I've encountered the new system that requires human approval over the last several months. Never been told I can't purchase gift cards on that system or can't purchase a gift card with another gift card. But if you're worried just don't show them what payment method you will use. Wait for them to authorise the transaction and then select the payment method. They have no need to know how you'll be paying. The system still absolutely will accept WISH cards to purchase any gift card.

Whether this will change in the future is of course moot.

I visited a few bigws and all had only one or two of only some ofothem And it seemed stock wasn't monitored or replenished properly or efficiently
