Woolworths gift card thread

Can't edit the original post, but confirming this offer goes live at 9.01am AEDT today 20 November, and runs until 11.59pm AEDT 3 December.

Combined offer does apply, so you'll get your 3% discount as well, and points are awarded based on the amount of the gift card selected before the discount is applied. Allow up to 14 business days to receive your points. Your Pick gift cards (which allows you to exchange to others) is included in the offer.
Looks like there will be an offer for 6x points from 20 November until 3 December for Woolworths Group Gift Cards purchased through the Everyday Rewards app (which means the 3% discount will also likely still apply). Minimum $150 spend, redeemable once only.

Nil stock of the variable load Vanilla MasterCards at the store I tried this morning (Regional NSW).

I doubt that they're hiding in the freezer aisle as when they have stock, these cards usually move at a pretty glacial pace at this particular location. There wasn't any there when I last visited that store several days ago either.

Seems like they just haven't re-stocked for a long time. I don't recall seeing any there since I bought some during the last promotion six weeks ago.

Hope others have better luck than me!

I get that ordinarily you might not stock too many high value gift cards, but with how often these promos are happening surely it would make more sense to just send some to the stores and offer them from behind the counter to prevent people fraud or people hoarding them beforehand?

It seems the inventory control at Woolworths for gift cards is a lot worse than Coles generally.

I wouldn't do that. You are going to have a strange time explaining what you are doing when you get stopped at the door.
I find BigW have a pretty officious shoplifting policy. The general consensus on this thread has been that despite no clear monetary loss, you would be on very shaky ground doing so

You might be able to get the cards from say BIGW and then take over to Woolworths to activate

Realise there is no monetary value on these cards until activated but would still not be something I’d be keen to try. Give it a go though and let us know what the staff manning the exits have to say about it when you walk out with a bunch of gift cards and no receipt.

Please pardon my ignorance; what's the usual points accrual for these gift cards? (I thought that you didn't earn any points unless there's a particular promotion.) So, during this promotion, for a $100 gift card, how many points would you get: 600?
Lastly, are these for both physical and digital cards?
Thank you.

There is usually no EDR earn outside a promotion*. You do get the underlying credit card earn. Platinum Edge will usually earn at 3 Amex MR/$ as it goes through as supermarket spend

*though you will earn any relevant EDR points when you spend them

No variables in 3 Woolies along Gympie Rd N Brisbane, none behind the counter either. Heaps of $50 & $100.
