Good deal, thanks....
One each for me and Mrs R = 40k .....
Is this based on you both signing up separately?
I have a Westpac Earth Plat Plus MC and AMEX but the points earn on the WW MC is better so I applied for these cards for me and the husband individually a while back and there were no problems getting them. However, I decided I would cancel mine (having got the bonus points) and get an additional card on husband's account to reduce the amount of administration each month so I filled in the application for additional cardholder on his account, got husband to sign and sent it off. They sent back a letter telling me to go and prove my ID at Woolworths. First time I tried they couldn't get the computer to work so I left without doing it. Second time, no problems. Waited, waited weeks later no card. Husband rang - they said I have to do my ID check. He said I did, PLUS I already have one of their cards in my own name so obviously I passed an ID check somehow in order to get that. No good, he has to ring and have me there at the same time. F--- it I said, and applied for the BankWest platinum card, which I got with a higher credit limit than (a) I asked for and (b) the WW cards have. I will now be cancelling the two WW cards and using the BankWest for places that don't accept AMEX.
Another painful thing with the WW card is that you can't export transactions from their online banking site so if that's important to you keep it in mind.
So once I cancel them can I sign up again in both our names for the 20k sign up bonus?
This was the easiest CC card to get. Submitted application on Monday, card recieved in the mail by Friday. No phone calls or enquiries at all. Called CS and was told 2 months after first purchase till I receive bonus points. The wait starts.
Easy for some. My third rejection by them.
In my case, could only be card limits with old Amex and NAB cards putting my limits close to $200K. My supporting letter, personal and company financial statements all for nought.

EDR being a personal card, they would care little for company financial statements... I would suggest that your current limits on other cards is the problem and that HSBC/EDR not happy to be the "minority" party in your available credit.... With limits of close to 200k, they know they could have Buckleys chance of recovering any debt.
Also the business income does not fit well with their modeling, since businesses can and do go broke from time to time and is usually a more messy process than personal.
I suggest if you have a need for this card, you lower your current limits, otherwise perhaps this is not a card you can "have"

One's mind sometimes uncontrollably reverts back to a time before certain credit limit increases when one applies for new cards. It's a terrible disability to have.On a more practical note, my understanding is that when they do a credit check at the moment (and this is about to change) they cannot see your total credit card limit and are relying on what you tell them. Now of course an honest man such as yourself would tell the truth but I have heard of some people "underestimating" their combined credit card limits on CC applications once they get into the stratospheric range. Like yours possibly.
I applied for this online three days ago and got an email from them the next day.
Then today got something in the mail but it was just an everday rewards card.. not what I applied for, which was the mastercard.
Has this happened to anybody else ?
Is this their usual process before checking income etc and then sending you out the mastercard ?
Or does this mean by application for the CC was rejected ?
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Haha, that's hilarious. Would you like me to get you a supplementary card?
