What is the WBC black sign on bonus? Looks to me like 20,000 points for $395 annual fee, not many points for a high annual fee. Did you see any better offers for WBC back sign on bonus?

No this is standard procedure and likely means you have been accepted. The card you have received is merely the card used to scan for the additional reward points when shopping at Woolies or a Woolies Caltex for example.

Your actual credit card will arrive in a few more business days followed a little time later by your pin number.

Cheers thanks for the info

40k altitude points for altitude black...(convert to program of your choice, at rate of their choice, from their list)

40k QFF points for Earth black

won't be bad for a few forms and maybe a phone call or two

I applied for this online three days ago and got an email from them the next day.
Then today got something in the mail but it was just an everday rewards card.. not what I applied for, which was the mastercard.
Has this happened to anybody else ?

Is this their usual process before checking income etc and then sending you out the mastercard ?

Or does this mean by application for the CC was rejected ?

Any thoughts would be appreciated

If you register on their website, you will be able to see if you've been approved.

I'm in the same position as you. Received the e-mail, and then the everyday rewards card today as well.

However, on their website, my application went from "pending" to - Damien's Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card 54xx_xx_xx_x with the actual card number a couple of days ago, so it's been approved.

This was the easiest CC card to get. Submitted application on Monday, card recieved in the mail by Friday. No phone calls or enquiries at all. Called CS and was told 2 months after first purchase till I receive bonus points. The wait starts.

My experience exactly. Although it might have even been 4 days. They might have contacted my employer, but no ID checks or anything of that nature. Just waiting for the points now. :)

Once the points arrive I don't have any use for this card.

I have had this card for about 3 weeks now and it is the MOST frustrating on line site ever and on the autophone. I can only get in to my account less than half the time and the telephone system is appalling. I have been on the phone for 40 mins today and no one can tell me why I can't log in.

The supervisor didn't know either. He said there is "one guy" who is 'front end' and may be able to help. He's going to call me at 4pm. Oh pleeese. What is this Mickey bloody Mouse?

On AFF there are numerous references to the terrible service, I hoped that it would not happen to me ... but it has/is.

Sorry I fell off my chair laughing, 'one front end guy' so who sorts out the rear ......

And I was going to apply for one of these cards, is that a front end card ?

Front end meaning someone who deals with customers on a regular basis.

They rang me today to check about submitting my bank statement & tax notice. It's ok they might be a mickey mouse club but it's 20K points for me and other benefits so worth it IMO.

I know which 'end' I'm heading to once the points come through. The time amount taken so far is way more than the $89pa.

I should have been a bit clearer, it was the emphasis they made on one front end guy, as averse getting a front end guy. .

Applied online last Monday....received the card today. Pretty smooth so far. They didn't ask for anything or call me for more info which I found a little strange. Hopefully the 20,000 points come through without a problem.

LOL. Whinge whinge. Why so easy for everyone else? :) groan and giggle

I legitimately hate this card for on-going use. Everything about its service is horrible and the hard limit (or $35 overlimit fee) is irritating as well. Definitely churning come time for the second annual fee!

Same. Applied online early last week. Normal everday rewards card came through on Friday. And the credit mastercard came through today. No phone calls or requests for income verification.
I'm planning to hold onto this one longterm as 1:1 is a pretty good earn rate for Visa or mastercard. Best I've heard of in fact. So i'll use this for places that don't take Amex. For everything else use my ANZ card which pays 1.5 points per dollar.

Next stop is the 80,000 Amex bonus

I have had the credit card for a while now and am really happy with.
Good earn rate for the average Mastercard and easy online banking. Have used it overseas and never have had a problem.
Recommended.

Have to agree, really basic card for a platinum but superior mc earn for the cost of it... Everyone should have this one, even just as a backup card
