As an employee on PAYG you would only get the pleasure of paying taxes on a credit card if you had extra income not taxed at source like from investments.

In regard to personal tax, I am referring to paying a tax bill (i.e a tax notice where an amount of tax is owed at the end of the financial year)

Thought that was the case, but your post gave me a little glimmer of hope of the existence of some mostly-unknown way to do normal PAYG installments as an employee instead of the employer. Oh well. It was worth a shot.

Slightly off topic - but I recently requested to change my billing date on my statement so that I wasn't paying all my card balances at the same time each month.

I was happy to have one month which was a "short month" in order to adjust the billing date.

Apparently HSBC won't allow that and can only change the statement date if you are within 10 days of your old date.

Bear this in mind if you need to change your billing or statement date - and organise it well in advance of when you actually need it
