Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Couldn't happen to notice that throughout the promotional material Woolies sent out, no reference that the new loyalty card can be used at Big W.
That's a wasted opportunity since both Kmart and Target have a loyalty program.... Or are bigger changes afoot for Big W ?

According to reports, they are trying to sell Big W, so wouldn't want it tangled up in the new scheme.

If only Bunnings had a loyalty system or better still, an airline point scheme - I am scared to tot up how many $ we have spent over the past 10 years and continue to spend with husband's hardware and DIY fetish (we have owner built three homes in our lifetime so far) then there's the gardening section......

You can buy Bunnings gift vouchers in Coles and pick up points that way. I understand there is also some sort of trade discount scheme

Woolies has some items I can't get in coles, and really the only reason I go to coles is that their fresh baked sourdough is a reasonable substitute for the real thing. I swipe my woolies card regardless of the value of spend.

I don't swipe my FlyBuys because apart from the misnomer, I have never seen any value in it. There is something about the coles colour scheme also that makes the store look dusty/dirty, at least through my tires old eyes.

I think the exact same thing about our Woolworths. The staff are less than pleasant, too busy chatting around the ciggie
counter to see whats going on (customers!) and the aisles are always blocked with "stuff".
Glad to hear about the Coles deal, Could Aldi do a deal with any european airlines, I LOVE Aldi.

I sincerely hope Qantas and Woollies can still do a deal otherwise I will be changing cards. I will now go to NAB and ANZ and check their offers in preparation for what seems the eventual.

Who in a boardroom decides on "things we think you'll like"? Looked at Woolies this morning and one item that "gave" $1 cash back was the most expensive 1L Select brand of showergel. a: I don't buy 1L at a time and b: have an issue with Woolies pushing their own Select brand stuff regardless of where it comes from. I bet the $ "cash back" items going forward will be their own brand stuff. There goes the Aussie suppliers again!!. Woolies have seriously got this all wrong. Looks like I am to become a Coles shopper.

Yes I have an AMEX Gold card and continually get offers offering Platinum. Nearly all my flying is through my work so the "free" flight isn't worth the annual charge. I only use my AMEX card for those bills I hate paying as their merchant fee deters most traders from accepting it.

If the free flights do not interest you/can't justify the annual fee then the Amex Platinum Rewards card is an alternative.
Fee free for first year then only $80 annually it still provides for 2 points at supermarkets and petrol.

I had a look through the catalog yesterday to see what I could be earning (mainly cents) on with the new scheme, and I think I found one product I'd actually consider buying... such that the new scheme for me blows, and is a complete waste.

The sad part is, this is how the QFF scheme should have worked with WOW, where a brand that wants some more exposure offers extra bonus QFF points for purchasing their product. I recall WOW did this with their own in-house products early on in EDR's life, but it never really spread to other brands. If it had, perhaps people would have more points and be more engaged now!!

Their loss though.

According to reports, they are trying to sell Big W, so wouldn't want it tangled up in the new scheme.

What a mess!

agree. this is really a poor decision by Woolies

I used to bag Flybuys but I went back to Coles 18 months ago when they refurbished their store here and improved checkout service. While the QFF points were OK at Woolies, it wasn't enough to keep me as a loyal customer - especially when there was a twenty minute wait to get through the checkout. This new program of Woolies sucks and the products that attract the "Woolies Dollars" will be the ones that they want you to buy - not what you want to buy. I've even shredded my new Woolies card which came in the mail yesterday.

I will be cancelling my Woolworths money Visa Platinum Qantas credit card as soon as the direct debit cycle is completed and have the ability to shop anywhere I like on a level playing field. The incentive to shop at Woolworths has just vanished with the termination of ff points

I have in mind to send my new card back (when it comes) with an explanation of why I am abandoning them - just for the fun of it.

welcome to AFF gecko24

Using the web chat feature of the new site, 'Tod' assures me that my QFF is linked and that I will earn QFF points until 31/12/2015 and my preference for fuel discount remains unchanged. It's handy that you can print the conversation as I'll hang on to it should points not post.

Thanks for this

There should be more of customers letting retailers and merchants (and airlines) know what they are not doing very well as well as letting them know when they do something good.

These type of ridiculous decisions by Woolworths are the reason the company is going backward and Coles is going forward!

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

and the sad thing is that they are more likely to listen to customer comments via the website then to staff who use the internal contact forms.

I other news... I thought i got my new card yesterday!

I say thought cause i did except it wasn't for me... it was for the person who hasn't lived at my flat for over 6 years AND currently lives overseas.

masive fail woolies... so you sent the new cards to those people who don't use it?

Or maybe they thought the new program would win them back... not those that have show their loyalty....

Something else to think of.

How many of those people who supposedly 'don't use QFFF points" are people who didn't swipe at all?

Buy Bunnings GCs from Coles.

FYI for those interested, i got an email about CC

The WOW Qantas Visa Platinum is not changing, points will still be accrued for using the card.

Same $2:1 earn rate etc etc.
But we still prefer our CBA AMEX Diamond for points use even when shopping at WOW. I only use as backup or where I get bonus QFFP's Eg flight bookings etc.

IN response to someones post earlier, Dan Murphys has never been part of EDR and is not part the new WOW Rupiah scheme. If only Masters and DM had been part of EDR... Bunnings would be getting no where near the spend it is currently from me.
