I went to Coles yesterday to explore my options. I not they have a sign saying 2000 points = $10 off your shopping. Now given I've seen people claim they spent $250 and not got a single Woolworths dollar, Coles plan is probably looking better because everything earns points as does shopping in Target and K-mart and other retailers. Many could rack up the 2000 points a month versus the modelled 7 weeks for a $10 reward that Woolworths has offered. In the long run i'll lose 5-10k points a year from Woolworths, I'll continue to accrue QFF points by flying and CC. I'll just use my flybuys a bit more rather than go to Woolworths only. Going into Coles after 6 odd years is strange. I put it almost on par as going into a supermarket in a foreign country! I found a few things I'd not seen before in Woolies, some different brands I'm going to try. I've also just requested my Woolworths card be cancelled and to no longer receive promo material. I can't be bothered waiting til December.
Reality is I just booked a cheap Y+ fare to Lima, put in for business class upgrades at 45k each way and will earn 30k for the flights. I can understand people who don't fly din't care much, but reading the facebook page reveals how many of those people actually used QFF points for giftcards and in the store. A lot more than I though and they were not QFFer's, just normal people who used the points for gift cards and toasters
