The best airports in the world have been named in the annual World Airport Awards.

South Korea's Incheon Airport has again been named the world's best, taking out the top award for the second time after first winning in 2009.

The airport was ranked in the world's top five for eight of the 10 award categories from Skytrax, which include accessibility, comfort, speed of transit, friendliness of staff, and shopping and other facilities.

The awards, announced last month, are based on surveys conducted by Skytrax with 12 million passengers of 100 different nationalities over a nine month period.

Only 2 for me and I must say I am not particularly fond of either of those

Don't like SIN because of the cheap looking carpet which makes it hard to pull my trolley (I know I'm precious ). And every time I have been through Schiphol it has been an absolute mess.

Someone commented in the SMH that Cairns was equal worst. That was a little too generous.

Haven't been through Zurich or Central Japan.

Must say I do find Incheon to be one of the nicest to go through as well.

I've got all ten, although Schiphol and Zurich were a few years ago. Either Schiphol has changed a lot or my memory is playing up - I remember it as a bit of a tip

Four for me.

I didnt find MUC that great, but maybe that's because we flew out of the non-LH terminal.

I also find SIN highly overrated (at least on outbound). Inbound they're excellent in terms of speeding through.

I've been through 6 so its not too bad at all. I agree that SIN can be a bit overrated at times though probably worth a mention in the Top 10.

Looks similar to Male, Republic of Maldives. Almost like landing on an aircraft carrier.

I have heard that Nagoya is pretty good but haven't been there personally - I can say that Kansai Airport (Osaka) is also very very good.

I really don't rate SIN much at all. Maybe if flying SQ and using their lounges I would be more impressed. HKG for me is just about the prefect airport - once they finish the current refurbs I think it will be great.

I have my first experience of an updated PEK on Sunday so I am intrigued what that will be like.

And HKG is going to be getting bigger in the medium term...read satellite terminal.

Seeing that some Airports are being built on man-made islands perhaps this could be the solution for Sydney second/expanded airport?

Waters too deep for that to be econmically feasible. It *could* be a floating airport...but thats another story.

So the big question is where do any of Australian airports rate?? So neglected in decent quality infrastructure stakes..
