Worse than feet on bulkheads

Not in a lounge or on an aircraft but out for dinner. Surely if you were going somewhere nice you would dress a bit better. Just because you are with someone famous doesn't mean you should come like this. Or maybe it does?View attachment 146845

I understand the judgement and usually support but Im going to give this a pass because although I do not wear thongs, I do wear slip ons for comfort at times. Personally I dont know why people wear thongs at all but he is wearing footwear at least.

But it’s a restaurant!

Although I understand the judgement, I feel for the guy because sometimes you simply cant put shoes back on your feet because they are aching so badly or due to swelling, injury ect.

Im also guessing he wasnt eating with is feet. :p I'll say again, dont understand how people wear thongs at all.

Sure but maybe that’s the time you say it might not be a good time to eat out. Not sure of the restaurant but I’m surprised he was allowed in.

Not that is makes a jot of difference but who was the famous person @Buzzard?

Joseph Parker. One time boxing world champion. Big fight in Christchurch tonight.

If I want to look out, I'll do it and damn everyone else. That's why there's a window and why I pick a window seat. That said, 99% of the time if the sun is beating directly down on it, I will close it just because it's hot. But not on a night flight, I've had disagreements with FAs on that one.

Yep. I don't see how it's all that different from a pax having reading lights on.
I've never been denied my desire to have window shade open. But have been asked at times either for sleep or screen viewing purposes to close. I usually do if it's a polite request. Though I don't really buy the screen viewing requests anymore. Different in the old days when there was one screen in the whole cabin (like a movie theatre). Nowadays with individual screens, lighting doesn't matter so much (I can watch mine perfectly well with my window shade wide open).

One thing that bothered me a few flights ago was a guy who had been watching TV then he swivelled his TV in my direction, and then he went to sleep. And the screen just flickered away and I could ‘see it’ as it’s the side I have to sleep on.

Many planes have the shades controlled by the crew.

Could you have asked the crew to switch his screen off?

I should have done that shouldn’t I? I guess I don’t like bothering people too much but the downside of that is that I expect others to do the same. Which doesn’t work out well.

I often see crew go round and turn off monitors / lights for pax that are obviously asleep and not wearing the headphones. They shouldn't baulk at a request in this scenario.

The only one that I think I will commit is the damn touch controls on the back of the seat. Sometimes they are so completely unresponsive.
And you have every right to touch those controls.

People have lost respect for those around them and don't care what they do or how they are seen/perceived. At OOL airport this morning a young lass had her bags in front of seats in the terminal, layed her head on the bags, her body on the seat and her bare feet crossed on top of the seats with people sitting all around her. Not a good look. Was going to take a photo but couldn't get other people out of shot.

That may be your personal experience. But it affects my ability to watch the screen :(

Now that you know that, will you change your habits?

Most seats with touchscreen also have a controller. I never use the touchscreen because of the potential to annoy the person in front.
