The lounges do stop ppl coming into lounges once a limit has been hit.
I have yet to encounter that (so I consider myself lucky in that regard)
All commercial indoor spaces have their limits to codes, heating, cooling, fire etc.
That's what I thought too but I thought I'd check since countries can vary quite a bit. For instance, we don't use air conditioners to heat our houses in the winter in Canada.
Fire Marshalls only operate in an emergency, they don't stand on entry or walk the floor spaces counting heads day/night.
That's a difference from Canada where Fire Marshalls will from time to time perform audits, particularly when someone calls in a suspected overcrowding situation.

While that's true in colder areas where they aren't as useful, in milder places like Vancouver, heat pumps (as they're called in North America) do have some market share. One report I saw estimated there are 700,000 residential air-source heat pumps installed in Canada (against a total number about 15 million households, so admittedly a small market share, but it does exist). Last week having my OWE status I had to use the QP at SYD. I personally thought it was better than the J lounge. Larger and wasn't crowded on arrival at 1730 until 1845. As for food it didn't have the brown slop and rice which has been there every time I visited the J longe but it did have nice roast potatoes as the hot dish which went well with a salad. Soup was minestrone and looked no different to the same soup in the J lounge.
And on top of all that it had exactly the same wines as the J lounge on the last few visits.

So sorry to all those WPs out there QF are having a lend of you telling you they are providing a better lounge than that QP members get. They even get to have a view of a small section of the International terminal.

Sydney Domestic, by a large margin. The state of the toilets alone should put shame on Qantas, it’s an outrageously dirty stink-fest, bah.

Besides that- I just want the marvellous pizza oven from the Perth Dom lounge in ALL Qantas lounges please and I’ll be happy :p

Heretic! Can’t you tell this has become just a HBA QP rant thread? 🤣. How many of the toilets in the Sydney lounge are bad? In the Hobart QP gents it’s 100% - that is, one out of one.

You know it’s peak hour at HBA when you need to wear your gum boots to wade through the slop to get to that one toilet. I just head for the terminal now

Correct! Hopefully you enjoyed the better views of the QP instead of staring at the hangar at the J lounge in SYD. I would go so far as to say that the SYD domestic J lounge can't hold a candle up to the QP at MEL domestic in terms of catering alone!

The Sydney domestic J lounge showers are real a whole other level of awful. I've been to priority pass lounges operated by Turkish which were nicer than this:

What is this pizza oven you keep speaking about at Perth domestic? I was at the QP a week ago and saw no such oven! Is there a special code I need to know. Do I need to go up to the bartender and tell them the magic passcode, "I hear the olives in Sicily are ripe this season!"? 🤔

I think the operators of HBA could really add some excitement to the whole airport experience by simply cutting the number of lanes at the security check-point like they do at CHC. Get travellers a little bit anxious and maybe relieved once they enter the departures lounge instead of depressed upon seeing the state of it! 🤣

The HBA QP showers are au natural - that is, you mearly walk to your plane in the rain.
I for one love the fact that there aren't any stinking jet bridges to obscure my view of the plane. Makes for excellent plane cough.

Sometimes the sleet obscures the view, unfortunately.
Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of a decrepit passenger lounge will force the powers that be to improve HBA! 😂

The pizza bar is in the J lounge! It's the theme for PER J just like how MEL J has the Spice Bar and BNE J has (had?) the Cantina.

I wouldn't hold out hopes for pizza bars in other Qantas lounges though. I remember some quote from somebody at Qantas talking about the Perth lounge saying they didn't want to be known as the airline with the pizza lounges or something along those lines, hence the differing themes across the cities.

It's not fair to compare PER lounges to any other lounge on the QF network either domestic or internationally. Nothing is ever broken in the lounge nor is there ever a need for refurbishment. Do you wanna know how I know? It's all the high-vis keep the lounge gremlins away! 😂

What's the theme for Sydney then? Anger and resentment? Oh wait that's Hobart's! 🤣

Yea, I liked the cantina in Brissy too but that seems to be gone since Covid which is a real shame.

And what’s wrong about being the airline with the pizza lounges? Way better than being the airline with the five leafed salad if you ask me!

The theme for SYD is the Bain-marie bar! Butter chicken/[insert other rice dish here] 🎉🎉🎉
That so-called “butter chicken” is truly awful. But so was what went as a “pork goulash” in Melbourne the other day. Luckily in MEL, you also have the Asian bar and that chicken Laksa was great.

Is it definitely gone ?
The last time I was in BNE J early evening (earlier this month) they were serving chili and nachos from that Cantina bit.
I didn’t have any but the group beside me were tucking in. Didn’t look that bad.

I really can't understand how anyone could rate the SYD Q Pub worse than the MEL one.

MEL is a dungeon (elevated) with no windows, pitiful seating and surly staff (and no doubt other shortcomings).

SYD is bright and airy, has nice views, reasonable seating and the staff are no worse than MEL.
