WOW - MH to Asia - 3K in J

FWIW I found HKG-KUL-MEL-KUL-HKG for under $1500AUD in Business. Pretty impressed with that.

Not the best depending on the destination, with most requiring an overnight stay in KUL at least one way.

the hairy one is the 3am arrival in KUL coming back from SYD with a 4hr layover - hoping they will allow Platinum Suite access for a snooze in a day bed. otherwise there's an earlier flight that requires overnighting.

If only you could get the return leg prices as a way one price.

$561 for MEL>KUL>NRT is a bargain for a one way price (if I choose return), but as I am meeting up with the wife (who is already over there), if I want to fly her back on the same flight it will be $1014 for a one way ticket.

Ugh.

Just been playing on MH site and still showing some great prices.

Priced PEK-MEL Apr 2 / MEL-PVG May 4 and it comes up 2.8K for J.

I certainly hope they retain this aggressive pricing going forward - me thinks we might see some serious action from other carriers especially the Chinese once post CNY peak period.

FWIW same routing same dates on CX 6.8K but PEK-MEL / MEL- PEK same dates 3.8K - go figure.

CX TPE-MEL-TPE same dates 2.2K - but then J connections from / to mainland is your next challenge.

Just found an EXCELLENT MH Business fare - PNH - LAX for just over 2K return!

There doesn't seem to be any black outs, and we have just booked for Christmas :)

3K and SilkAir both fly to PNH ex SIN if it helps you connect to them!

That's amazing - more SCs and better hard product than FJ ex NAN too!

If it is the A330 - it would be the new A330 product, not the old one

Super price for the ex-PNH fare.

Then if it is the new proiduct it looks REALLY REALLY attractive.

Is the new A330 also used on the Perth route?

Regardless, where can I get some info on the new seat? Seatguru.com (which I understand isn't as accurate as it once was) refers to something like the Qantas 767 J seats on all MH A330s.

MH have their older 330's which is like a regional product, but their newer 330's (which fly to AU) have a different product. Don't have a link but I'm fairly sure you can find the info on their website

Swell. Thanks. I've got an AA award booking currently on hold for PER-KUL in J. It's a short journey at only 5.5 hours but for a 1.30am departure, I wasn't overly looking forward to their hard product.
