I'm a fan of the 717!

I wasn't planning on it but now I know the esteemed company I'd be joining... I'll put in for an upgrade and let the upgrade fairy decide

Wozza I have quite a few of those wines but we are in the US in March so I couldn't put my hand up.

There were 2 U fares available on the flight...... last week ;)

I wish you luck

Shame, Cove. I'm sure they'll be more opportunities to do this again. Enjoy the US. Cheers, Wozza

I did a birthday group with a Grange, Hill Of Grace, 707 , Yattarna, Leeuwin Estate and a Rockford. I got them wrapped in alfoil so no one knew what was coming next. It made me realize what I really liked.

That would have been some surprise, Cove.

Which wine was the most the most popular?

The Grange and 707 were on the wish list. But they were just too expensive in the end.

Luckily, this fine country has so many awesome wines to choose from.

Let us know if you head to Sydney. Bring something nice. And we'll do likewise.

Cheers, Wozza

707 is quite a bit better than most Granges. The Hill Of Grace was a beauty. Personal tastes takeover. I do have some Diana and Vanya now and I prefer Diana.
Be aware that the Hill Of Grace corks can fail...I lost two and they were my favourite 1990 ones.
Penfolds do recorking of Grange and one chap brought in 10 dozen for that process in Perth. I had about a quarter of his stash.
As for birthdays try to make them special as your trip around the sun has been completed.

I would dearly love to attend, but unfortunately I have another event on that evening.

However I’d love a chance to catch up with everybody. If anyone is interested in meeting for a pre-dinner drink somewhere around Darling Harbour I’m happy come in for a quick catch-up and wish you all bon-voyage as you depart on the water taxi.

Sadly, I now don't think I'll be able to make it into Sydney tomorrow evening. For those of you that haven't heard, I'm about to move to Tasmania, and there's just too much going on at the moment, so I don't think I'll be able to squeeze this in.

If it's anything like the Monday event it will be quite a memorable evening - a real treat. I'll be thinking of you all with just a little jealousy and regret. Have a great night!

Cheers,
DB

Thanks DB.

It's sad times for us Sydney folk, with your imminent but exciting move to the wonderful world of Tasmania.

Lucky for you, there's some equally keen wine lovers (and regular contributors on these wine threads) in your new stead that you can get to know and share a wine with.

We'll a glass in your honour dear friend.

Wozza

Greetings from Dusseldorf.

DB - Best wishes for the move to Tasmania. No doubt you can meet up with Steady and Roo Flyer and sample the local wares.

Wozza and crew - have a great evening tomorrow. It sounds very special.

Cheers

Thats a shame DB but quite understandable

hope you let henschke know so they could sent replacements? :)

(i have a 1990 hill of grace still waiting to be opened)

I'm hoping to catch up with Steady at BNE tomorrow as he catches an aluminium tube to the Wozza soirée.

However, the continuing rain, closure of schools and my wife needing to go to work as her boss has an impending QLS audit (Wozza will understand the impact), I have drawn the short straw to mind them at home, as I didn't open my business yesterday or likely not also today and can work from home (finishing off work created from PER trip).

i was hoping to give a little something to Steady for Wozza to enjoy. We'll see if I can get it to him (pack up the kids in the car, so long as no flooding between here and airport). If not, I'll bring down on my next SYD trip Wozza.

Contact made with Steady and meeting at the QF J Lounge in 45 mins for him to take delivery of a little present for Wozza.

Going to live vicariously through the posts here. Again, photos or it didn't happen.

I am more than a little envious, if this becomes a "regular / annual" event, I would like to participate in the next one .
I shall be interested to hear the report from Buzz on Sunday

if I post a photo it will spoil the surprise for Wozza..... ;)

Steady is on his SYD flight complete with my presents for Wozza - many thanks for allowing me to piggyback your hand luggage.

Wistfully wishing I was going tonight but with events here, lucky I made it back to BNE before the remnant of Cyclone Debbie hit us.

Happy birthday Wozza!
