Also hit Platinum a couple of weeks ago and hoping the new QFF card arrives in time to flash it to get into the J lounge on my next trip on Friday. (I know the card's not required to get in, but this is about putting the W in WP.)

I am the same, just hit it a couple of weeks back, yet to fly but have Singapore and Manila in December and a heap of domestic prior to that.

The problem with getting to platinum is you now want to hold onto it! I,ve been gold for many years with one or two slips back to silver and attained platinum for the first time in July. I never worried about Plat before, but I am now obsessed with hanging onto it and have planned my travel for the next 5 years around making sure I obtain the necessary 1200 status credits annually. I know this is silly and infantile and I totally blame this board.......

I started 2012 as NB having once in my lifetime reached PS. Thanks to a double SC offer coinciding with a burst of flexi fares I've finally cracked it. looking forward to experiencing the Sydney first lounge next year. :):lol::D

Congratulations, and remember that it is an achievement to attain the lofty heights of WP but a commitment to retain it.

Enjoy your F lounging, I know I do.

I hear you. Held off our family holiday until July this year as SYD-HNL-SYD Jetstar J was a great way to kick off my first ever attempt at retaining WP (My QF year = Financial year). Will have it done by end of Oct and might hit the 2400 mark. Pity QF don't let you stockpile for the following year as I would do that instead of taking 50k points (wife isn't flying much so partner gold is a waste) as I think 2013-14 might be lean flying due to work slowing. Oh well will have to try to get through the F lounge again soon.

I am splitting a trip to Hong Kong planned for August, so that it goes across Aug/Sep and thus across my membership year, so I can get half the credits in one year and half in another - fortunately Mr FM hasn't worked out yet why dates have suddenly become so important :)

it is easier to keep though, and definitely enjoy the Flounge as much as possible (I do the 4 hour before departure check in in SYD :D )

Well done. I made it for the first time last year and enjoyed it immensely but sadly didn't fly as much with QF due to a lot of SYD-TSV flying (DJ has a direct flight which saves me about four hours every return trip plus they are half the price). I did do three trips to NZ so made full use of the F lounge in SYD. That's the one you want!
