Re: MEL dinner/drinks Sat 21 December

Thank you to who ever moved my post. I didn't even realise this thread existed. Why it's in "playground" as opposed to "Meetings and social Events" seems a bit odd though. From a quick glance of preceding posts, it seems there may be some cold shouldering going on. So be it. Life's too short for BS.

I do remember using these central rear airstairs:oops:

I remembered people siphoning off from the main entry point (on the port side) to the rear of the a/c, to enplane without the use of portable stairs.

My first flight in a B727 (Trans Australia Airlines) was in seat 1A, although I had no SC (hadn't been invented). No OLCI. You just had to be first at checkin.

Sorry, we're a bit off topic now.

I was very keen to meet you. I was informed (reliably it seems) that you were there in spirit. Another time perhaps

Ah Kim, it was indeed a lovely event and one could rightly say you were there in spirit, for we all had a 'whale' of a time. It's no fluke, as much organising went into it I'm sure, and it of course helps having a good group. Diving into the food was wonderful, as was listening to others spout their wisdom around travel. Please do try to get to another event soon, as they are a delicious sauce on the meat of these and other forums.
Warm regards,
Peter

Re: MEL dinner/drinks Sat 21 December

Yes, I've since read all the posts in this thread and thought Ooops, stuck my foot in it again
I am struggling to understand the issue but then again I am very slow at the best of times.

This was not advertised as an AFF event. Sure AFFers are in attendance but it is not an AFF event. Similar to Ozfest. Someone else organised an AFF MEL event on the same night.

What is the big deal? Are we saying that drinks in ADL cannot occur on same night as drinks in BNE?

What is the big deal?

All I did was post I had a good time and was happy to hear the MEL bash went off well too! I land in the poo even when I'm trying to be nice .

(Note to self.....never try being nice again, it does not work)

Apologies. My question was not aimed specifically at you. The fuss was started well before. I am just interested to know why it is not possible to have 2 events in different cities on the same night.
