You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

For me it was last week, when I was handed a handful of "premium hand luggage" tags at the gate to board a QF CBR-SYD flight for the umpteenth time, by a FA that recognised me, on the grounds that "[you can]...keep a few for next time, Mr Wanderer_au, so you can write your own seat number on the tag before you get to the gate"

:shock::oops::lol:

I know this will sound like a dopey question, but what is "premium hand luggage"?

When flying the Dash 8 any hand luggage too big for the small cabin is tagged "premium hand luggage" and collected when boarding, i.e. taken to the back of the plane and returned to the passenger on the tarmac at the arrival port.

Regular luggage is still collected at the carousel.

A friend complains about how uncomfortable their transit in AUH was trying to sleep at the gate and you say without thinking: 'why didnt you just go to the lounge'?!

.....you become more and more dependant on spread sheets to keep track of when and where you are flying, who has and has not remitted the points/SCs/point bonuses and who you need to book with (and on what fare type) to maximise status earn.

When you start getting yourself together at home before a trip, your dog realizes what's going on and slips into depression because his chances of getting a decent walk have just drastically reduced for that week. :(

No longer as relevant... But... When you know whether to go upstairs or downstairs in the PER QP based on time and day of the week.

...When you don't mind being rerouted by two different airports due to the additional SCs.

... When your partner asks why you're taking photos of the seats, without them in it.

... When you book new airline's just because you haven't tried them before, even if you know it won't be good for you.

When you have requalified for platinum within 3 months of your renewal date...
When you can order dinner without looking at the menu....
When you check in at the lounge and tell them what flight you are on by the flight number, instead of the time of departure.....

You are reading this thread and realise you have a flight in ~75 hours and you are still in 6D....

So true. Read this post and thought exactly that (except it was 6F). Then realised that t-80 was not until today. Changed seats this afternoon:)

Same as our cat. Normally never comes near where we do our packing, but as soon as a suitcase appears, he appears as if by magic, and immediately becomes a supervisor..
