You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

I leave sacrificial hotel pens on my desk for people to steal, rather than let them score my nice pens.

Those sacrificial hotel pens ARE my nice pens! As sacrificial pens on my desk, I leave those 1/3 size keno pencils!

I think you may stay at some nicer hotels than me. ;) Happy to let people have holiday inn pens.
Conferences are another good one. I try to collect 30 to 40 of the coughpy pens per conference.

Thin Hilton pen is great as it fits well in the passport wallet and super light so I'm never without a pen on aircraft when I need one to fill out those pesky arrv/dep forms. I've been barred from bringing anymore home though.:(

Oh yes very very to the point

I just made a goose (OK ...bigger goose) out of myself.

Picked up some pizzas from a really nice little "hole in the wall" but genuine restaurant near my home and the Italian owner thanked me and offered "Buon Appetito".

I responded with ........... Tenkyu tru, buonanotte!

As I was walking out I thought to myself........you bloody idiot. That's part Tok Pisin, part Italian!

You know when you are a frequent flyer.........when the words come out that belong in another country!

Had this happen on Saturday, was buying a paper, not the Australian and the shop assistant thought he had seen me a few times before and thought I was a regular passenger.

I don't fly that often, honest.

I'm currently in Doha and visited the Islamic Museum of Art this afternoon and it dawned upon me that the only reason I knew what colour a ruby, sapphire and emerald are is because I've looked for those little OW ovals at airports. :) I feel that the rubies look better than emeralds, but can't but help being drawn more to the latter... :)

Spoken like a male and who doesn't work with jewellery! :p

I know where I am sleeping tonight, I have a rough idea where I will tomorrow, but three days out - not only do I have no idea but I am entirely comfortable with that.

The only "solid" plans I ever have are "home trips" - and home for me is always where my wife and kids are, even if that is a hotel room.

I really liked that post :)

Mind you, due to some great opportunity for extensive travel in recent years, I am starting forget what colour rubies and sapphires are ;)

But no doubt that will change soon, and I will fall back to the Bronze Age.
