You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

At the QF lounges, instead of dishing out your QF card or boarding pass, you continue conversations you had with the lounge angels in previous visit then walk right in.

Yes and you know how many kids they have, where they went for their last holiday, where they're going for their next one and the name of their SO! It makes us sound like sticky beaks, but it's just that we do get to know them more like friends!

So true, I mentioned that I see them more often than my family/relatives so they might as well be my extended family. And sometimes, they actually know more of my weekly assignments than my own partner (who has given up trying to keep tab!).
Also, I'm not sure if this is due to dying grey matter or too many flights but these days I only make note of when I need to get to the airport by instead of remembering the whole itinerary, etc.

Really? I thought I was nosy.

........ you are standing in SQ F checkin line for like 5 seconds then you spot Rita who is SQ's longest serving MEL staff member waving furiously at you to leave that line and go to opposite end of checkin counter for your private checkin. Gotta love SQ.

........ and when you arrive at Gate 16 to board there is Rita manning boarding desk and again waves you forward for personal BP scan. Gotta love SQ.

You get to the gate in ADL to board QF599 to PER and a flight attendant (Phillip) who is NOT the one scanning your boarding pass rushes up to greet you by name with the comment "Welcome back. I think you fly more than I do."

........... you arrive at TPR and are greeted by Lounge Manager who imm says - 'Welcome back Mr Elite - you have your Grey shirt on today' (I usually wear same style Ralph Lauren polos - aqua or grey)

........... you sit down in restaurant area of TPR at ~07:00 and waitress says - 'Welcome back Mr Elite - you don't need to tell me - plate of fruit with fruit yoghurt then eggs benedict - whites cooked / yolk still runny' (Good grief - am I such a creature of habit? Yes I do alternate between coffee or English breakfast tea)

Gee surely their menu changes regularly?. Or perhaps you're such a FF that they have not had a chance

CE is a regular in the SQ TPR. My youngest son is working tonight with my Kris Miles account. I think he loves the SQ product too.

Cripes. How many times does he have to mow the lawn and/or wash the car to get his mitts on your SQ miles?

We each have 5 SQ redemption nominees already RooFlyer so we are flying quite a gaggle of frequent flyers. Thankfully SQ miles are made very quickly. Mastercove only runs as a twosome and he has quite a stash of points and miles but sometimes there is no availability for him on his stash seeing he has no status.
We are happy that each of our sons look out for the olds because they can.

... You take out annual travel insurance.

It has been about 18 months since I bought an annual policy (Why pay if there is a gap in flights?) Has anyone else noticed "serious" price increases on the annual policies or is it the fact I'm just getting older?

Happy wandering

Fred
